00:03the local government of General Santos City aims to expand and strengthen

00:08their other aspects when it comes to tourism.

00:17General Santos City is known as the tuna capital of the Philippines.

00:20And if you happen to be here, you shouldn't miss out on tasting it.

00:28that is a big part of the economy of the city.

00:30Marlon has been selling tuna for 20 years.

00:33He says that the tuna has helped his family a lot.

00:45Even though he has rare opportunities to sell tuna,

02:05And now, the recent booming is our health facilities.

02:11It is estimated that 30% to 40% of tourism is in the city's economy.

02:16Aside from this, it contributes to the overall tourism of the region.

02:19LGU also plans to be a smart and sustainable city.

02:22Last year, the city recorded 1.5 million tourist arrivals

02:27while the tourism receipts are at 1.9 billion pesos.

02:30The city's target this year is to reach 1.7 million tourist arrivals.
