The former headmaster of a moral rehabilitation center under the Johor Social Welfare Department pleaded not guilty at the Johor Baru Sessions Court on Wednesday (Sept 25) to charges of misappropriating RM43,000.

45-year-old Mohammad Baharudin Admin allegedly misappropriated the funds in excess claims of payment from a catering company to the department.

00:25The offence allegedly took place at a bank in Tampoi between January and September in

00:32The charges fall under Section 403 of the Penal Code, carrying a penalty of six months
00:38to five years in prison, with whipping and a fine.
00:41He also pleaded not guilty to four alternative charges of using fake documents to submit
00:47false claims at the department's office between July and October 2021.
00:53The alternative charges under Section 471 of the Penal Code for using forged documents
00:59carries a jail term of up to two years, a fine or both if convicted.
01:04The court set bail at 10,000 ringgit and set October 24 for the next mentioned date.
