The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting unseasonable rain to continue across parts of the Northern Territory for at least a few more days. Flood watches remain for the Tanami desert and the western desert district as well as sturt creek, which flows through Western Australia and the Northern Territory. There are fears continued heavy rainfall will impact remote roads.

00:00We are seeing some of those outback roads becoming quite muddy, becoming impassable,
00:07potentially causing some long delays and long detours that need to be made as residents
00:13in those areas try to get around the rain.
00:15We do still have flood watches, I should say, in place for the Sturt Creek, the Tanami Desert
00:22and the Western Desert District, which kind of span the border of Western Australia and
00:28Northern Territory.
00:29So it's basically just reminding us that the rainfall could have these flooding impacts,
