00:57Come on, Bob, fight back.
00:58Stripped of all home comforts...
00:59No!
01:00...they will be pushed further than ever before.
01:01Oh, my God.
01:02If I pass this course, I'd be as happy as a dog with two dicks.
01:03But it's going to be a challenge.
01:04Take his head off.
01:05I'd like to think of myself as a bit of a hard nut.
01:06No!
01:07But probably when I'm out there, I might crumble like a pastry.
01:08No allowances or exceptions.
01:09I'm going to be a hero.
01:10I'm going to be a hero.
01:11I'm going to be a hero.
01:12I'm going to be a hero.
01:13I'm going to be a hero.
01:14I'm going to be a hero.
01:15I'm going to be a hero.
01:16I'm going to be a hero.
01:17I'm going to be a hero.
01:18I'm going to be a hero.
01:19I'm going to be a hero.
01:20I'm going to be a hero.
01:21I'm going to be a hero.
01:22I'm going to be a hero.
01:23I'm going to be a hero.
01:24I'm going to be a hero.
01:25I'm going to be a hero.
01:26I'm going to be a hero.
01:27I'm going to be a hero.
01:28I'm going to be a hero.
01:29I'm going to be a hero.
01:30I'm going to be a hero.
01:31I'm going to be a hero.
01:32I'm going to be a hero.
01:33I'm going to be a hero.
01:34I'm going to be a hero.
01:35I'm going to be a hero.
01:36No other test asks as much.
01:38I don't want to give it a go.
01:39No.
01:40I'm sorry.
01:41I can't do it.
01:42Or means as much.
01:43Look at me.
01:44Don't give up.
01:45Stay in the game.
01:46Get in the game.
01:47Head up.
01:48Head up.
01:49To the few who make it through.
01:50If you want to be here, then use the pain.
01:53You nasty things.
01:55Frank, he's soft.
02:06Break me up when we're ready to go.
02:27I can feel a poo coming, but I just know it's not ready.
02:30It's just there.
02:33The celebrity recruits are entering the second phase of the course.
02:38I've had my first nail break.
02:40That's a sign.
02:41What is, Georgia?
02:43I hate having chipped nails, Shazia.
02:46Of the 15 who began, 14 remain.
02:50Pete, I know you probably don't know,
02:52but do you think we'll go swimming today?
02:55I think it's going to be a tough day.
02:57But they said after day one it gets better.
03:01No, no, no, no.
03:02It's going to get worse.
03:04Yesterday was a teddy bear's picnic.
03:09Get on parade!
03:12Parade.
03:13Are we going out?
03:14Parade.
03:16Everyone get their armbands on.
03:17Tez, wakey-wakey, babes.
03:21What's going on over there?
03:23What is that, the pen shed?
03:24What are you doing?
03:25Going to the toilet.
03:26Quickly snap it off and get on parade.
03:28Come on, leave it, leave it, leave it.
03:32Get on parade!
03:34Button's done. Where's my button go?
03:36Is everyone ready?
03:38One second.
03:39Don't worry.
03:40Are you people taking the piss?
03:42Are you taking the piss?
03:44Drop your bergens off.
03:47Get out there now!
03:51Start bunny hopping round the square.
03:53Bunny hop.
03:54Bunny hop!
03:55Bunny hop!
03:58Start bunny hopping, you half-wits.
04:01All the way down.
04:02Go round to the back of that trough.
04:04Now!
04:05I want one, two, three, four.
04:07Four of you at the front, four behind.
04:09Let's go.
04:10Without discipline, there would be no special forces.
04:13Take your hats off, take your gloves off.
04:15Following orders and managing your time is crucial.
04:21Did you hear me shout from there, get on parade?
04:23Yes, sir.
04:24So why am I stood out here, ten minutes waiting for you people?
04:28When I say go, you four dip your head in that water.
04:33Go!
04:37This is going to be a massive reality check to these celebrities.
04:44Pull that idiot out.
04:47Get on your stones. Go!
04:50Next four.
04:51They're so used to being given everything they want...
04:53Dip!
04:54..being told how great they are...
04:56Out. Back to your stones.
04:58Next four.
04:59..out here, there's no agents...
05:01In!
05:02..and no assistance.
05:05Row to your stones.
05:06If they don't switch into this course very quickly...
05:10Dip!
05:11Row to your stones.
05:13..it will be a very painful experience.
05:22We're now entering phase two.
05:25And trust me...
05:27..it's going to get mentally harder, physically, emotionally.
05:31We haven't even touched physical yet.
05:33Stop fucking fidgeting!
05:39When I say go, disappear out of my sight, get your bergens,
05:44be ready to move.
05:46Go!
05:52Yeah, I'm anxious. Yeah.
05:54I'm really anxious about everything.
05:57Yesterday really took it out of me.
05:59Both that and my shit just got real.
06:03So fucking cold.
06:05I can hear my heart rate already starting to, like, pump.
06:08So in Geordie Shore, we didn't really have to do anything
06:11apart from just live together in a house,
06:15get drunk, go out, party and just have fun.
06:18It's funny how you go through waves of emotion.
06:20Yeah, I'm very anxious. You're riding the waves.
06:22I've never actually been in this type of environment
06:25where I'm told what to do.
06:27I'm a little bit sick. I've got a lot of pressure on us.
06:30I genuinely don't even know how I'm going to react.
06:36Everyone out the truck so you're kicked on.
06:38Quick as you can!
06:40Right, out we get. Game face on. Game face on.
06:43Quick as you can! Kick on!
06:45For the first task,
06:47the DS will test the recruits physically and mentally.
06:51When you go into battle,
06:53the first thing that happens is you're getting shot at.
06:56Put the noise down and the gaps closed off.
06:58And so there are no half-hearted measures on this.
07:01We are constantly faced with situations
07:03where we could lose our lives.
07:05Get a move on! Closing in! Closing in!
07:08We're looking for the recruits who've got the discipline
07:11to just get on with the job and not have to worry about
07:14losing their job and not allow fear to be that unwanted noise.
07:19Oh, my God.
07:22Towering over 300 feet above the recruits is Clyde Dam.
07:31Listen up, recruits.
07:33In times of war, key infrastructure,
07:36they come under attack.
07:38Structures like this, dams, special forces,
07:42we rapidly deploy to places like this to protect them.
07:47Keep your eyes on Chief Instructor Billy and DS Fox.
07:51In pairs, the recruits have to descend face first
07:56over the lip of the dam.
07:58I can't do it.
08:00When given the order, they must race to the bottom.
08:13Oh, my God.
08:19The first recruit down, succeeds the task, wins.
08:24There is no second place.
08:26Who here is afraid of heights?
08:28All right, stow that shit.
08:31Stow it.
08:33Ten and six.
08:34Yes, Staff.
08:35You're on deck.
08:36First, handle your bergens. Do it now.
08:39Everything we do is life and limb,
08:41so it's very important you pay attention to detail.
08:44Yes, Staff.
08:46First up is number six, Tez.
08:51Pitted against number ten, Georgia.
08:54I think most people will probably think I'm a bit bougie,
08:58a bit girly, someone that isn't very rustic.
09:02I'm not.
09:04Have you ever sailed before?
09:06No.
09:07I don't think the British public have ever seen the tough side of me.
09:12I don't feel right on the rope.
09:14You'll feel all right, don't worry about it.
09:16On this.
09:17Yeah, yeah, you're good. Now lean. Lean, lean.
09:19I'm leaning.
09:20I am actually really disciplined when it comes to things.
09:23If I've told myself I'm doing it, I'm doing it,
09:25and nothing will tempt me out of what I've set my mind to doing.
09:29One, that's it. That's it.
09:31Feel it.
09:32Start walking, that's it. Well done, number six.
09:35This is fucking madness.
09:37The frightening thing is being parallel 90 degrees to that wall.
09:41Number six, feed the rope through quick. You're going too slow.
09:45Imagine the smugness that would emanate from me if I passed this.
09:50Just walking around going...
09:52Your boy could have been SES if he wanted to,
09:55but, you know, didn't fancy it. Whatever.
09:58I can't get steady.
10:00Hang on, I'm not steady.
10:02Number six, I want to see you with speed, aggression and intensity.
10:08Right, stand by.
10:13Go!
10:14Come on, number six!
10:16Run! Run!
10:22Number six, Taz, takes an early lead.
10:25Making up ground, number 10, Georgia.
10:28There she goes.
10:36Number six, Taz, falls just before the finish line,
10:39allowing number 10, Georgia, to win the race.
10:42Oh, my God!
10:44Oi, oi, oi, oi!
10:46It's a fucking tactical race!
10:49Oh, my God!
10:51Oi, oi, oi, oi!
10:53It's a fucking tactical manoeuvre, not a circus!
10:58That was fun.
11:00What a thrill.
11:02What a thrill.
11:04I just don't think I can do it.
11:06I don't think I can.
11:08Nine and five. Here we go.
11:13Next is number nine, boxing heavyweight champion Lani.
11:18Up against returning recruit number five, Pete.
11:23I don't think many people think I would want to do this again.
11:26I've always known that I'd have to put it right.
11:28People that I've spoken to, they think I shouldn't do it.
11:31Off legs, just whip them over. Stand on that ledge there.
11:36And all you're going to do is inch by inch...
11:38Just go now?
11:40Yeah, just get 90 degrees to the wall.
11:42Mindset-wise, I'm going to finish this.
11:44There ain't no third chances.
11:46That's it, number five. Great position. That's it.
11:49Go on, that's it. Keep your feet there for the time being.
11:52Keep going, keep going. Now walk.
11:55That's it. Really good. Keep that arm straight.
11:58Putting your trust in that rope for that first bit,
12:01going like that, that's the bit.
12:03I think that bit's going to be harder than the slope.
12:05Keep walking, keep walking.
12:07Your left leg seems to have lost the ability to manoeuvre properly.
12:11I've had about 50 or so fights.
12:14I know I'm a hard person and I'm tough and all.
12:17Walk, walk, walk, walk. Go on then.
12:20I'm always last in the running.
12:22I'm, like, slow. I'm not agile compared to the people I train with
12:26because I'm a bit bigger and I tend to take a bit longer than others.
12:31Stand by. Go!
12:33Go on, number five! Go on, number five!
12:36Go on, number five!
12:40Number five Pete takes an early lead.
12:44You see a bull cross these world records...
12:48..and wins.
12:50Oh! Wow!
12:58Oh, my God, he was so fast.
13:00What a beast.
13:02That was fast.
13:06It was some world record shit, that.
13:09Now lean forward. Just one hand.
13:11That's it, go on. You'll feel it go.
13:14Ah, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
13:16Right, steady there. Prepare yourself.
13:18Right, stand by.
13:20Go!
13:22Lean into it. Hips forward.
13:24When I was on mission in Fallujah,
13:26I climbed underneath the bridge
13:28with 100 pounds of explosives in the cover of darkness.
13:31Go, go, go! That's good!
13:33There were enemy and dogs everywhere.
13:36Control! Control!
13:38You fucking clown!
13:40Oh, my God!
13:42That was a shower of shit.
13:44Oh...
13:46..fucking hell.
13:48How much were you drinking last night?
13:50You looked shit-faced.
13:52I was suspended high in the air.
13:54There was a river below.
13:56Dig, dig! Let's go!
13:58Well done!
14:00Good effort, number seven!
14:02There is no safety rope.
14:04If I fell, it would be into the river
14:06and I was so heavily laden, I more than likely would drown.
14:08Oh, fuck.
14:10Fucking hell. Oh, my God.
14:12It was the discipline.
14:14It was thinking about the mental checklist.
14:16That's it! Go on! Hips forward!
14:18Lean into it! Keep going! Run!
14:20It was doing things
14:22without cutting corners.
14:24And that's what took me
14:26to the other side of the river,
14:28accomplishing the mission.
14:30Oh, it's going to be close!
14:32What are you doing?
14:34I'm stuck!
14:36Oh, bosh!
14:38It's a draw.
14:40No, no, no end here.
14:42Mate, I'm having a draw there.
14:44I'll give you the draw.
14:5215, four, on me.
14:54All right, this is your time.
14:56Come on, Bob.
14:58Last up are the two
15:00most fearful recruits,
15:02number 15, Bobby,
15:04and number four, Marnie.
15:06When I was younger, I wasn't scared
15:08as much as what I am now.
15:10I don't know if it's because I'm older
15:12or because I've had kids,
15:14but now I just find myself just scared of everything.
15:16Oh, my God.
15:18Oh, my God.
15:20Oh, my God.
15:22I don't really feel like I've mastered a way
15:24to process the anxiety,
15:26fears and doubts and worry,
15:28and it would be nice to really believe
15:30that I can do something if I put my mind to it.
15:32Listen to what I'm saying, yeah?
15:34Oh, I feel like I'm going to fall again.
15:36Lean into it.
15:38Sorry, I'm trying, I'm trying.
15:40Go on, lean.
15:42Go on, lean, lean.
15:44When I go quiet, that's when you know I'm scared.
15:46Really tight, I can't breathe.
15:48Don't listen to her, she's full of shit.
15:50Ah!
15:52Doesn't matter, doesn't matter.
15:54I've never just for shits and giggles
15:56gone, do you know what, to my mates,
15:58should we go and do a bungee jump
16:00or I'd rather go landos.
16:02I'd rather go landos.
16:04Ah!
16:06Ah!
16:08Is that Bobby?
16:10It's Marnie. No, it's Marnie.
16:12Calm down, number four.
16:14Sit on your heart.
16:16I can't fucking breathe.
16:20I need to go.
16:22I'm going to be sick.
16:24Stay there and relax.
16:26Tight, I can't!
16:28I want to go.
16:30I can't, it's really hard.
16:32You're not going anywhere.
16:34Ah!
16:36Stand by.
16:38Please.
16:46I need to get out, it's too tight.
16:48Stay there, number four.
16:50I can't.
16:52Just wait.
16:54Number four, Marnie.
16:56Really, really tight.
16:58Come on, Bobby.
17:00They're going head to head in a forward down run.
17:02Number 15, stand by.
17:04Go!
17:06Go!
17:08Come on, number four.
17:10Go on, 15.
17:12Go on, 15.
17:14Number 15, Bobby,
17:16takes an early lead.
17:18Michael Flatley.
17:24Go on, 15.
17:26Go on, 15.
17:28And touches down first, winning the race.
17:34He only went on one, didn't he?
17:36Number four, what a sack of shit.
17:38I literally couldn't breathe.
17:44Great regain.
17:46Finally fucking done something.
17:48Cut the circus performance now.
17:50I don't want to hear no more bullshit.
17:52Do you understand me?
17:54My harness was so tight, staff.
17:56I couldn't breathe.
17:58You wouldn't have been able to shout and gob off
18:00if you couldn't fucking breathe.
18:02I'm telling you, I couldn't breathe.
18:04Don't fucking tell me, I'm telling you.
18:06You have to turn everything into an exhibition.
18:08No, I literally thought I was going to die.
18:10I'm fucking talking. You talk again one more time
18:12and you're going to become amphibious.
18:14I'm going to throw you in the fucking water.
18:16Your attitude stinks.
18:18Do you get it?
18:20Everything you do, you have to ruin
18:22and you have to be an exit.
18:24Sorry, I'm just in a lot of pain.
18:26You people, when I say go,
18:28sprint down to the fucking gate and back.
18:30Go!
18:32Why are they doing that?
18:34Because I'm in pain.
18:36Because you're being a prat.
18:38Fucking sport little kid.
18:40Fucking booking ideas up, do you understand?
18:42Gobshite.
18:44Get over there to the pyramid and get your kit off.
18:46Thank you, sir.
18:48Sorry, guys.
18:50Right, get your bergens on.
18:52Let's go!
19:02I know it's tough in the SES
19:04but they don't just shout at you for nothing.
19:06Do they do that in the SES?
19:08I assume so.
19:10I feel so emotional.
19:12It's just so fucking hard.
19:14Oh, my God!
19:18Stay tight!
19:22Keep it dressed up, that's right.
19:26Dress up on your stones.
19:28That means stand by your number.
19:38Task complete.
19:40Some people completed it well.
19:42We'll call them winners.
19:44Some not so well.
19:46For those that didn't do so well,
19:48fucking take it on the chin and bounce back.
19:50Those that passed the task,
19:52make one straight line at the front.
19:54Those that didn't, make one at the back.
19:58Fucking hell, 15.
20:00How does that feel?
20:02Good stuff.
20:04To be a chicken dinner, a winner.
20:06Best stuff.
20:08All I'll say about failure is
20:10don't keep repeating it.
20:12That's not failure anymore, that's a problem.
20:14All right. Stand by.
20:16Go!
20:24I've got nothing left.
20:26I'm leaving because I'm in so much pain.
20:28How do you tell them that you want to go?
20:30I'm in so much pain.
20:32Morning.
20:34Don't be silly.
20:36I've had enough.
20:38No, it's negatively pissing me off.
20:40I love Marnie, she's fucking lovely.
20:42I just want to go home now.
20:44It's a bad day.
20:46Wait till tomorrow, see how you feel.
20:48Babe, I'm not getting anything from it.
20:50You're getting something from it.
20:52This is making me feel worse than how I felt when I came in.
20:54At least have dinner, have a lie at rest, have a think.
20:56I can't spend another night here.
20:58I can't.
21:02Let's have a look where we are.
21:04Day two.
21:06We've gone down.
21:08To try to further understand the motivations of the celebrities.
21:12It was a race, but it was under control,
21:14so it didn't get reckless.
21:16The DS have enlisted the help
21:18of ex-New Zealand Special Forces psychologist, Dr Alia.
21:22There were a few things to it that we were looking for.
21:24The first ones to go were numbers 10 and 6.
21:28OK, yeah, I had 10.
21:30Listened in, we switched on, visibly scared.
21:33Watching her come down, the very start was,
21:35the dog has got worms.
21:37He wiped his arse on the carpet.
21:39That's right.
21:41And then she kind of got a grip of herself.
21:43Then from the run down, technique was fair from both of them.
21:47The decision I gave to number 10.
21:4910 won that.
21:51Next two up were number 9 and number 5.
21:535 was almost faultless, I'd say.
21:56Right, number 5 won that, and he won it easy.
21:59The primary worry I have about number 5
22:01is that he's here to prove a lot to himself,
22:04and I hope he's not going to run out of steam too early.
22:07Yeah.
22:08Right, the next one was 15 and 4.
22:1115.
22:13Once he would brace the fear a little bit,
22:15he was actually all right, and he won.
22:18Fucking shocker.
22:20Number 4 was miserable, fed up and moaning.
22:23Yeah, she came up, and the old crocodile tears came on,
22:26squealing, shouting, so she let herself down there.
22:29It took forever to get started,
22:31but actually, once she eventually got started,
22:33once she'd had a little moment...
22:35She was looking solid, wasn't she?
22:37Yeah, she was pretty solid.
22:38So when they came down, I went to do the debrief.
22:40All I got from her was batting eyes, sucking of lips,
22:43and just total disrespect, and it really pissed me off.
22:47She tends to get motivated by external factors.
22:50She fancies herself a bit of a rebel,
22:52but that's just a defence mechanism.
22:54You think she's a confident person?
22:56Confidence is a shifty line.
22:58Depends on context.
22:59A lot of these individuals are very confident
23:01in a context that is familiar to them.
23:03Yeah.
23:04One of the challenges is how she deals with authority.
23:06I really hope that she gives herself a chance
23:08to push as far as she possibly can.
23:10Worth getting her in.
23:12OK.
23:17Number 4!
23:20Let's go! Fucking hurry up!
23:22Get over here.
23:24Come on, then.
23:27Fucking freezing.
23:30Bigger hands against the wall there.
23:32After her extreme reaction in the previous task...
23:36Right turn to face me. Hands together.
23:39..the DS want to see if they can motivate...
23:43Step up.
23:44..Number 4, Marnie, to dig deeper.
23:47And one more.
23:56Sit down.
24:00HE SIGHS
24:12How are you doing?
24:14I'm not good.
24:16What's wrong? I'm not going to lie.
24:18I just feel like I've misunderstood what this is.
24:22I thought that I would come here to gain something from it
24:26that I thought I was lacking.
24:28What do you think you're lacking?
24:31Confidence and...
24:34I don't know, I just feel like, since I've been here,
24:37I feel like I've lost more than what I started with.
24:40More respect.
24:41I thought it would build us up, make me feel good,
24:44cos that's kind of what's been taken away from us
24:47for such a long time, and I feel like it's done the opposite.
24:50Maybe it's not the best place for what I wanted.
24:53I would say you've not even been here long enough to know that.
24:56You've only been here a day.
24:58You've been shouted at. Yeah, but...
25:00And you don't like it.
25:01People have, you know, looked up to you for whatever reason,
25:04blown smoke, as we say, and you've got so comfortable with it,
25:08it's what you expect.
25:10You will gain so much confidence by taking it on the chin,
25:13accepting what is coming at you and dealing with it,
25:16not walking away from it.
25:18Failure is where you grow. Yeah.
25:20There's more value sometimes in failure
25:22than there is in fucking winning things.
25:24You've said you've had a lifetime of feeling inconfident
25:27and being knocked. Why?
25:29What's knocked the confidence out of you?
25:31I just feel like just a few things.
25:34I get really bad anxiety.
25:36I've had that for about six years.
25:38Right.
25:39I don't really want to talk about it,
25:41but that's cos my dad died out of the blue.
25:43I don't want to talk about that.
25:45OK.
25:49I feel like I'm really fragile at the minute and talk about that.
25:54I feel like that happening really set off a lot of, like,
25:57health anxiety, a lot of death anxiety.
26:00And then I nearly died during childbirth
26:04and I was, like, really poorly for, like, two-and-a-half years.
26:08Couldn't even look after my baby.
26:10So I feel like all that has contributed to just me being
26:15really, like, unconfident and anxious,
26:18just always thinking the worst and trying to do the worst.
26:22Thinking the worst and just never wanting to push myself
26:25in certain situations.
26:27You know, I'm always just so fearful.
26:30It's a small passage in time.
26:32You've only got a number of days here.
26:34You need to get out of this every little bit of it.
26:37Yeah. Stand tall.
26:39If you get knocked on your arse, get back up again.
26:41This is your opportunity to do it.
26:43This is what you've come for, all right? Get on with it.
26:46OK.
26:47You're stronger than you think. Yeah.
26:50So get your head in the game. How old are you? 31.
26:53Fucking hell, I thought you was about 15.
26:55All right.
26:57Fucking old crow.
26:59Take it on the fucking chin. OK.
27:01Learn from it and go again. Mm-hm.
27:05Guard!
27:08Thanks. Thank you.
27:15Right, stand up.
27:21So my dad struggled with alcohol abuse and drug abuse
27:26and it was really tough to see him in that state
27:29and he died really young.
27:31Don't give up. It's not fucking personal.
27:34Stick with it and you will fucking enjoy it in the end.
27:36You've just got to go through this shit first.
27:40I feel like losing someone with no warning is going to affect anyone.
27:45I feel like all the milestones that I've hit,
27:47my dad hasn't been around.
27:49So that is really sad.
27:53I just always assumed I had so much time
27:56cos I don't really feel like I got to say goodbye,
27:59I didn't get any closure.
28:02I just hope that I make him so proud of us.
28:15WHISTLE BLOWS
28:21Hi, friends.
28:23Hey, babies.
28:25We'll go in there, my loves.
28:28There's a lot of shit there somewhere.
28:30There's quite a bit of shit in there. OK.
28:32I don't know how girls are pissing in the sea.
28:34So you just get the spray and the toothbrush and spray it, yeah?
28:37Get the spray and then spray around.
28:39Spray around that whole area. Yeah.
28:41Just don't look in the hole.
28:43The DS have assigned the recruits cleaning duties.
28:46Shit, they've spotted you boys. Yeah.
28:49God!
28:50Number 2, Rachel, and Number 10, Georgia, have drawn the short straw.
28:54I don't want to have to do these things in my life anymore.
28:57I just want a rich husband.
28:59I need to spend more time on dating websites.
29:01This is rank.
29:03Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
29:06Did you look down? No! Never looked down?
29:09HE VOMITS
29:12If you do this for a job,
29:14you've got to have some fucking balls of steel.
29:16My nerves will be shot to shit.
29:18Oh, God, yeah. If they are so, we'll be gone.
29:24Get in the vehicle and go! You've got 20 seconds!
29:27Let's go!
29:31Come on, let's go.
29:33Come on, let's go! We haven't been waiting!
29:36Let's go!
29:38Quickly!
29:42What's your thing that you're most scared of?
29:45I've not been in the ocean since, like, last time. Yeah.
29:48In, like, open ocean, like, anything, or falling into.
29:51Yeah, I've fucked myself on heights over water before.
29:55As Special Forces operators, we work at night
29:58because we can approach with stealth, surprise.
30:01We can move with freedom under the cover of darkness.
30:05Get a fucking move on! Let's go!
30:09More often than not, it will involve doing an insurgent into water.
30:13All the way in, everybody!
30:15It's fucking scary. Let's go.
30:17The only thing you can do is to not panic.
30:23Right, look in.
30:25With little visibility,
30:27the recruits are about to take on the final task of the phase.
30:33In the Special Forces,
30:35we conduct missions behind enemy lines,
30:39which often means that we approach from a maritime insert,
30:44at height, in the pitch black of darkness.
30:51Stand by!
30:54To pass, the recruits must enter the water.
30:58Go! Head first.
31:06Yes, Rudy! OK!
31:14Two and five.
31:16Walk backwards, up to your waist, then shoulders under.
31:22You OK? You OK?
31:24Go as quick as you can. Keep warm. Let's go!
31:27Attempting the backwards dive,
31:30are recruits number two, Rachel, and number five, Pete.
31:35So, last time, I thought water was going to be my strong point,
31:39and I jumped out of a helicopter and knocked myself unconscious.
31:42Let's go! Come on!
31:44And I broke a couple of ribs, so I wasn't able to continue.
31:47Let's go! Fucking hurry up!
31:49I'm embarrassed about what happened.
31:51So, embarrassing myself twice,
31:53I'll probably shave my head and become a different person, I think,
31:56because I cannot be the person that fucked it twice.
32:00Well, well, well.
32:02Let's hope we don't have a repeat performance,
32:05because if I'm not mistaken, the last time you were in open water,
32:09you knocked yourself clean out, didn't you?
32:11I've not been in open water since, sir.
32:15Don't fuck this up.
32:17Go on, number two!
32:19Sorry, sir. It's already a bad air day.
32:22Right, listen in. On the word of command, go.
32:25All you do, transfer the weight from your toes into your heels,
32:29and you'll naturally start to fall backwards.
32:31Right, number five, you're first.
32:36I can't really remember much of what happened,
32:38but I don't know if I've developed a weird fear of the fucking sea.
32:42Stand straight. Look up. Don't look down.
32:45I get flashbacks, but I don't know if they're actually flashbacks,
32:48or it's just my mind telling me, you fucked that.
32:51Arms across your chest. Stand by.
32:54I just need to do it.
32:56I need to do this again, properly.
33:01Go!
33:12Fucking hell.
33:21Right, right, right.
33:23Good pass, number five. Well done.
33:25Yeah, number five, well done.
33:28Right, now lock your body. Look dead ahead.
33:32Watch.
33:33I had nightmares about being on the mast of a tall ship in a storm.
33:37Stand by!
33:39It's quite presumptuous of us as human beings,
33:42who can die if you fall 20 feet, to think that you can be safe.
33:47Heights is dangerous.
33:49You know, you tell a child on a wall, come down.
33:52You know, don't.
33:54Go!
33:58Go!
34:05Fucking hell.
34:07Baywatch calls for number two.
34:09That's a pass, number two. Get out.
34:12Both of you, solid performance.
34:15Fucking well done.
34:20That's it. Shoulders under.
34:22Next up is number 14, Shazia.
34:24Yeah, come on.
34:26All the way, all the way to the step.
34:28Strap the ladder on up to me.
34:32I feel like I find giving trust and control to other people
34:36really scary and daunting.
34:38Listen to exactly what you're told.
34:40When you get up those steps, just stay calm.
34:42Don't fuck it up.
34:44I want to learn to trust people again.
34:47I also want to gain confidence in myself.
34:49I want to believe that I can do things when I put my mind to it.
34:53Right, 14.
34:55Go. Step back a little bit more.
34:58OK. Right, are you ready? Yeah.
35:00Stay rigid. Lock your body.
35:02Stand by.
35:04Go.
35:1114 OK?
35:13Oh, yes, yes.
35:15Right, that was a fail.
35:1714, miserable fail.
35:19Step back.
35:21Don't do what she did.
35:23Are you happy there?
35:25Come on, you can do this.
35:27I feel like if I had the ability to just not care and let go...
35:32Rigid. Look dead ahead.
35:34..if this course could do that for us,
35:37I'll be, like, utterly overjoyed.
35:40Stand by. Go.
35:48I don't know how, but that was a good pass.
35:51Well done, number four.
35:53Pass, number four!
35:55Marnie, how did you get in there?
35:57Oh, my God, did Marnie just pass that?
36:00Number four, I cannot believe it.
36:02You actually did something good.
36:04Pass.
36:06Let's see what you've fucking made of.
36:10Right, stand up straight.
36:12The special forces will...
36:14Here we go.
36:16..our means of delivery into the conflict zone
36:18is normally from an aircraft.
36:21At night, pitch black into the abyss.
36:24Stand by. Go!
36:29Fuck, I hope she's all right.
36:31Number one, fail!
36:33Hold your arms.
36:35It is absolutely terrifying.
36:37Go!
36:38You totally have no control of your life.
36:40Number nine, pass!
36:43You can't afford to allow that fear to grow inside your mind...
36:47Stand by! ..and overpower you.
36:49Go!
36:50..if you hesitate or panic,
36:52you could end up losing your life.
36:57Number three, that's a fail!
37:01Come on, 15.
37:05Come on, stand up.
37:07This isn't a fucking crawling task.
37:09This is when they need to show discipline.
37:11Keep looking ahead.
37:13Stand by. Go.
37:15Right in the right position, Chuck. Yeah, yeah, go.
37:18Let's just fucking fall backwards.
37:21..and can follow orders and get the job done.
37:24Number 15, go!
37:31Fucking hell!
37:35Pathetic! Fail!
37:37Number 15.
37:39Fail, 15!
37:48I'm going to need you to help me get through this.
37:50I'm going to need you, mate. I don't know.
37:54Let's go!
37:56Quick as you can!
37:58Walk backwards, walk in.
38:00It's going to be cold. Control your breathing.
38:02Next to face the backwards dive
38:04is recruit number six, Tez,
38:07and number ten, Georgia.
38:09I do think I struggle with, like, just letting go
38:13and, like, seeing what happens.
38:15Let's go. Over to me.
38:18Go faster!
38:20I think losing control might be hard for me.
38:24Stand there. Yes, Dad.
38:26Take charge. You've got to keep telling yourself that.
38:29Stand by.
38:34Go! Come on, big boy.
38:37Go! Come on, big boy.
38:46OK, get out. Fail.
38:50That's not how you do it. Step back, step back.
38:53I feel like over the last few years,
38:55I've been mentally, quite frankly, pushed to my limit.
38:58We're going to step you back.
39:00You're going to get your heels into the air
39:02so they're free of the platform.
39:04The biggest fear of my life right now is about me being a victim
39:08and I feel like this is my time to show that I'm resilient,
39:12I'm strong.
39:13I wouldn't...
39:15OK, just tell me... Can you just tell me what to do?
39:18But I think my biggest fear would just be
39:21if I in any way let myself down.
39:23Oh, God. Stand by.
39:27Go.
39:35All right, guys, that's number ten, OK?
39:37Number ten, fail!
39:40Oh, fuck. Fail, number ten.
39:47Are you all right? I'm not weak, I just want to cry.
39:50That was horrible. Was it horrible?
39:52Well, yeah, it's just like you do it and you sort of fuck it up,
39:55but it's still such a horrible thing to do and you just feel like shit after.
39:58You take it like a drink, so composed.
40:00Oh, so frustrated.
40:03He's still down. He's fine.
40:14Round the square, follow him. Go.
40:16Next, let's go. Go on, Bob, let's go.
40:18Follow, run. Right behind you.
40:20Run.
40:22And run.
40:27The celebrity recruits are nearing the end of phase two of the course.
40:31Oh, my God. Shut that door.
40:51Number ten!
40:53Number ten.
40:58Let's go, ten!
41:00After losing her nerve on the backwards dive...
41:03Let's go! Let's go!
41:05..number ten, Georgia, has highlighted herself to the DS.
41:09Step. One more big one. That's it.
41:24That's it.
41:31Bring your chair forward.
41:34This is all your air out.
41:38Bobby said it looked good.
41:46How do you think you're getting on?
41:51I don't know. I think I'm frying myself into everything,
41:55but I felt a bit emotional today.
41:57Emotional from what?
41:59Like, I just feel emotional.
42:01It's tough when you're, like, doing your best at something,
42:04but, like, you just fail at things at times,
42:07do you know what I mean?
42:09You know, we expect you to fuck up,
42:11but what we're after is how you bounce back from the failures.
42:14Yeah. Do you know what I mean?
42:16Yeah, and I think I find it hard, like, not to smile,
42:18but it's just cos I find the situation strange.
42:21We've sort of worked that out, only just.
42:24What are you hoping to achieve with this?
42:26I feel like I'm in a bit of a stage in my life
42:28where, like, I've had, like, a tough couple of years,
42:31and I just want to see how strong I can be
42:35and maybe come out being a better person.
42:37What's the tough couple of years all about?
42:40Um...
42:41So, I had a situation with an ex-partner that was quite public,
42:45but, long story short, he filmed us having sex
42:49with cameras that I weren't aware that were there
42:52and sold it on the internet,
42:54and it ended up being viewed by over 10 million people.
42:59So, he told me he'd film me after he'd done it,
43:02and I made it extremely clear that if he ever put it anywhere,
43:05it would completely and utterly ruin my life.
43:08But he still went on to do it.
43:10And that then went on to cause, like, a two-year legal battle
43:14for me getting him to court,
43:16but in the time that that went on,
43:18my best friend died and my ex-boyfriend died.
43:22So, over that two years, it's just been, like,
43:26just a lot of just trying to get through things.
43:29Sorry.
43:31It's all right.
43:32It's just been, like, two years of just trying to, like,
43:36barely just get on with things
43:39and just be strong enough to just, like, be remotely happy
43:43and, like, achieve the things I need to achieve to just get by.
43:47And, um, a lot of it, I had to be strong really quickly
43:50because I had to be strong to get to the court case,
43:53so I had to, like, put a lot of my grief into the side.
43:56Sorry.
43:57It's all right.
43:58And, like, now I've got through it and I've won the court case
44:02and he went to prison for 21 months,
44:04but I think I'm still, like, dealing with, like,
44:07the loss of my friend and, like, my ex quite a lot.
44:11But it's something I'm overcoming all the time.
44:14Did that happen when all this other shit was going on?
44:17Yeah, like, everything happened, like, six months between each other.
44:20Every time I started to get better from one thing,
44:22something else happened.
44:24Pretty shitty for a couple of years for you, then.
44:26Yeah.
44:27But I actually got the law changed,
44:29so now I feel like lots of women are looking up to me,
44:32so I want to make them strong
44:34and I'm getting lots of opportunities
44:36to make a difference in my story.
44:38The day before I flew out here,
44:40I got called into the Ministry of Justice
44:42and they told me that they changed the law.
44:44So you've got a law change, right?
44:46Yeah.
44:47That's awesome.
44:48Is that a really good line in the sand for all that shit?
44:52Yeah.
44:53And, like, it's nice, actually, just to have been here for a few days
44:57and not have someone sort of go, you know,
44:59are you OK?
45:00I've got so much more in my character than that.
45:03This is the perfect way to just rip me out
45:07of what's been two years of struggle.
45:12So, basically, this course couldn't have come at a better time.
45:16No, it couldn't.
45:18You are showing yourself to be a strong person.
45:21Yeah.
45:22Bounce back from the, you know, the trip-ups, the failures.
45:25Yeah.
45:26And re-attack the next thing.
45:28Yeah.
45:30Guard!
45:42When you go through something like that,
45:45you really do lose a lot of your self-esteem.
45:51Honestly, I felt violated.
45:53I felt ashamed.
45:55I felt embarrassed.
45:57I really can't cry my eyes out.
45:59But it was good, actually.
46:00I did feel a lot stronger after that.
46:02I was starting to wonder, like, what's going on?
46:04What's going on?
46:05What's going on?
46:06What's going on?
46:07What's going on?
46:08What's going on?
46:09I did feel a lot stronger after that.
46:11I was starting to wonder, like, what I'm doing here.
46:13I felt like I devalued myself.
46:16Like, I looked at myself as something that was damaged goods.
46:20I'm winning. We took the hood off.
46:22Sort your fucking hair out.
46:24I feel like this is my time to show
46:27that I'm so much more than what happened to me.
46:30It's come at the perfect time,
46:32and I think it actually has, really.
46:36Next time...
46:37Keep going!
46:38You knocked him off!
46:39Go, man!
46:40On selection, it's important that you trust your opponent.
46:43Knock his head off!
46:44It's crucial to you getting a job done.
46:46Taking him out!
46:47You don't have to like him,
46:48but you have to be able to work with him.
46:50Let's go!
46:52There you go!
