00:00You need a different set of skills to probably hit your target.
00:18With so many predators on top of you, you shouldn't be strong or big.
00:25It's a big help if you're fast.
00:30This is the Peregrine Falcon.
00:33The undisputed super bird or fastest bird in the world.
00:44It can fly at a speed of 389 km or even faster than a bullet train.
00:51And almost three times faster than a cheetah.
00:56They are the so-called fighter jet of the animal kingdom.
01:04I've been to a nesting site of the Peregrine Falcon in Luzon.
01:11But of course, it wasn't easy.
01:21Because they nest in the upper part of the field.
01:28Until we caught a Peregrine Falcon.
01:34It's hard to see them from this vantage point.
01:37The sky is actually making it more difficult for us to appreciate them.
01:41But with the aid of the telephoto lenses, we can appreciate them better.
01:45We can observe their behavior, how they eat, how they fly.
01:51They hunt in mid-air.
01:53The birds that fly are the ones that they will chase.
01:56And that's what they will hunt for.
01:59So that they can eat themselves or feed their cubs like this one.
02:05This Peregrine Falcon is already getting used to being fast.
02:11And now, it's time for its parents to go home.
02:16Right now, they're starting to discover their surroundings.
02:20And they're starting to develop themselves for the preparation of their flight.
02:28We're seeing actually four young ones.
02:33And they're fledging already.
02:35As the cubs grow up, their parents will transfer them to a higher ground.
02:42This will be their training ground for their flight.
02:49In the air, they'll seem to be dogfighting.
02:54It's important for them to get used to any challenge.
03:00Especially against illegal hunting.
03:04The birds are still hunting.
03:08They're being chased using airguns.
03:11Even though they're Olympians in birdwatching,
03:14they lose when it comes to territory.
03:22Because the forest where they used to live
03:26has been replaced by houses and cars.
03:30This is the biggest obstacle course
03:32where they're putting their lives in danger.
