00:00On the eve of the third Run for Inclusion at the Villa Giallarco della Pace in Milan,
00:10Bristol-Myers Squibb Italia presented with the sponsorship of the Italian Association of Cardiomyopathy,
00:16the Italian Society of Cardiology and the National Association of Cardiologists,
00:21the national campaign Fai Posto al Cuore, dedicated to promoting the knowledge of hypertrophic
00:27ostruction so as to be able to recognize it and treat it early.
00:32Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is represented by an increase in the thickness of the walls of the heart
00:38and the cavity therefore becomes smaller in general.
00:42What happens is that if conditions are created for which an obstruction is formed,
00:48that is, a difficulty in getting blood out of the heart,
00:51clearly the patient becomes symptomatic.
00:54It has not been for years, but when the obstruction begins to be very frequently present,
01:00it begins to be symptomatic.
01:02It is therefore of fundamental importance to sensitize the public
01:06regarding this progressive pathology.
01:09Patients also recognize the value of sensitization initiatives like Fai Posto al Cuore.
01:15I believe that initiatives like this are very important,
01:19especially for people who are at home and feel alone,
01:22who may have received a diagnosis and feel it as a sentence,
01:28as a sword, as something that really upsets you.
01:33I say not to stop, not to be discouraged and to go all the way,
01:38to find specific centers where the cure has gone on
01:44and there are improving solutions, not to stop at the first obstacle,
01:51at a first diagnosis, but to go deeper.
01:54A commitment, that of the dissemination of knowledge,
01:58aimed at promoting health and prevention, very dear to Bristol-Myers-Quibb.
02:03For us, this campaign is very, very important,
02:06we have been working on it for a long time and we are very proud,
02:10very proud to be able to launch it today with this initiative,
02:14with this beautiful bench, with the slogan Fai Posto al Cuore,
02:20and take the opportunity to be able to talk about this disease,
02:23explain how it could be identified, diagnosed, treated.
02:29It is part of our social responsibility, which for us is a very, very important aspect.
