00:00Our senior reporter is in Beirut. Earlier we asked him, James Andre, what the situation was like there.
00:06Well, you can see I'm in front of the American hospital here in Beirut and as you can see there
00:11are a lot of people here, some of which are going to visit relatives who are inside this hospital,
00:16who've been wounded in the pager attacks, the radio attacks, and a group of women was earlier
00:21telling us they were waiting to see their husbands, their uncles. They were telling us that
00:25yes, people had been wounded, that they were hoping to enter the hospital to visit them.
00:28They were also telling us that they feel that Hassan Nasrallah had given a powerful speech
00:34yesterday. They were, you know, very much on the Hezbollah side of things here. Militants,
00:39if you will, telling us that they believe that if Israel moves into Lebanon this is going to be
00:45very difficult for them and that Hezbollah is ready and ready to fight. So this is what these
00:50women were telling us. What we are hearing also across the city is that a lot of people have felt
00:56that this speech by Hassan Nasrallah was very much, you know, the same tune that has been coming
01:04out of the Hezbollah leadership over the previous months, as in there will be retaliation, we won't
01:09tell you when, we won't tell you what, but it's coming and it might come in months or years. And
01:16that, for a lot of people, kind of misses the mark here. There is a feeling here in Lebanon that
01:24this attack is different from others, that it has been extremely violent, and indeed we were
01:29driving across this neighborhood which is usually very busy and there were very few people on the
01:34streets. So yes, you can tell that there is worry here, that there's also a sense that
01:40something may be imminent and people are indeed bracing for it.
