00:06The Filipino romantic film I Love Lizzie has been directed by R. C. De Los Reyes.

00:16The story revolves around the fluttery romance between Jeffrey, Jeff, and Lizzie after they

00:20meet each other while Jeff is on vacation in Legazpi.

00:23When Jeff falls in love with his tour guide, he pours out his childhood traumas and insecurities.

00:28However, under an unfortunate circumstance, the couple is seen to be separated.

00:34Will Jeff and Lizzie ever get back together?

00:51The two are seen connecting instantly as Jeff joins Lizzie's party with her friends at

00:56Her outspoken nature attracts him, and they form a better bond when she takes him out

00:59on a tour of the city.

01:01Later that night, when Lizzie again invites him to party with her friends, she drinks

01:05a lot and passes out.

01:07Jeff does not hesitate to carry her on his back, and on their way back home, Lizzie urinates

01:11on him.

01:12He does not seem to mind, and when Lizzie asks for his forgiveness, his heart melts

01:16instantly.

01:17However, he asks her to cut down on drinking, as that would protect her health in the long

01:21run.

01:22Later, when they share each other's issues and traumas, Jeff takes her to the church

01:26and asks the Almighty to grant her peace in life.

01:29They are seen sharing intimate moments that connect them further, and when Lizzie's

01:33uncle, Abner, finds out about it, he tries to prevent the relationship because he knows

01:37that Jeff is about to become a priest.

01:39Jeff tells him that he would go back to Manila and give up his career as a priest so that

01:43he could return and reunite with Lizzie.

01:46What childhood traumas did Jeff and Lizzie have?

01:49When Jeff and Lizzie get to know each other better, within a short time frame, they share

01:52their darkest secrets with each other.

01:55Jeff tells Lizzie how his father used to torture him and beat him up when he was just a kid.

02:00He would make him wash his car and do all the other chores.

02:03When his mother found out about it, she took him away from his father and later revealed

02:07to him that he was not his real father.

02:09After getting to know the truth, Jeff had become a rebel and had resorted to drugs.

02:14He was later able to gain control over the situation as he was introduced to the church

02:18by one of his aunts.

02:20Lizzie also shares her part of the trauma and tells him that on finding out that her

02:23father had another family, she was heartbroken.

02:26She had always tried to win her father's attention by studying hard and even securing a job on

02:30a TV channel right after her graduation.

02:33He, however, never paid much heed to her.

02:37One day, while she was drinking with her father and uncles, she out-drank them all and that

02:40was the only time she had heard her father praising her.

02:44Since that day, she has started drinking to impress her father as she believes that it

02:47is the only way she will impress him, turning her into an alcoholic.

02:52After venting all their emotional traumas, they made themselves more open and vulnerable

02:55to each other.

02:57What unfortunate events separated them?

03:00Jeff goes back to Manila and they have a great time doing long distance for a few days.

03:04Later, one day Jeff asks Lizzie to give up drinking and she goes one final time to drink

03:08with her friends at night.

03:10Unfortunately, she and her best friend, Kring, meet in an accident.

03:15When Lizzie regains her senses after a few days, she asks about the whereabouts of Jeff.

03:20Despite searching for him frantically and dropping him several messages, he does not

03:23revert back.

03:25Lizzie has a terrible time after Jeff ghosts her and is unable to get over the fact that

03:29the person she loves the most has deserted her.

03:32After a few years, she is seen enjoying her life again with her new boyfriend.

03:36He proposes to her for marriage and she finds herself on top of the clouds.

03:41Her life again comes to a halt when she sees Jeff in their local church.

03:45She sees that he has become a priest and asks him why he left her behind.

03:49Initially, he is reluctant to tell her the truth, but when she insists on knowing the

03:53truth, he reveals it to her.

03:55He tells her that he had come back after her accident and had been by her side during her

03:59critical times.

04:01He had gone to the church and tried seeking answers from God for letting the peril befall

04:04Lizzie, and he begged him to make her better.

04:07After his visit to the church, he had seen a miraculous improvement in Lizzie.

04:12This incident caused him to dedicate his life to religious causes, as he had promised God

04:16that he would never turn his back on him if Lizzie survived.

04:19What happens finally?

04:21Even though Lizzie would have wanted to go back to Jeff, he had left her no option open

04:25as he had become a priest.

04:27The sacrifice that Jeff had made to save Lizzie's life was the major factor that kept them from

04:31being together.

04:33Later, when Lizzie marries her current boyfriend, Jeff is seen conducting the marriage.

04:37The pain that he feels in his heart is inexplicable, as life has caught him in a mesh that he cannot
