00:04so let's begin.

00:06Netflix's crime drama Rough Diamonds follows the story of the Wolfsons, a family of diamond

00:10traders living in Antwerp.

00:13Their business had been struggling for a while.

00:15The death of a family member triggers everything that has already been hanging by a thread.

00:20When Noah returns, it is to pay respects to his younger brother, but then he discovers

00:24that his family is in a bind.

00:26Noah decides to stay long enough to help them, but things soon get out of his hands.

00:31Over the course of 8 episodes, the show goes through many twists and turns, completely

00:56Noah discovers that Yankee was into gambling and owed a lot of money to some dangerous

00:59people.

01:00Noah, who has become a part of a crime family in London, deals with the situation, but then

01:05he discovers that the mess is bigger than he'd imagined.

01:09His family is in millions of dollars of debt, and no amount of threatening and haranguing

01:12from Noah can get them out of it.

01:15Their money is stuck in the pockets of an Albanian mob boss, which has obstructed the

01:18cash flow, creating problems for the Wolfson family.

01:22With the help of his mother-in-law, Kara, Noah strikes a deal with the Albanians.

01:27He believes it is a one-time thing, but the Albanians make it clear that they will not

01:30let go of the cash cow so quickly.

01:52However, he sticks around to help them.

01:55Whenever Noah thinks that he is done and that the problem has been solved, and he can go

01:58back to London, something new comes up, and he is forced to stay in Antwerp.

02:02Ultimately, he comes up with a way to deal with their problems in one clean move.

02:07The greatest danger to the Wolfson family is the Albanians.

02:11They owed a million and a half to Noah's family, but the Wolfsons had to strike a new deal

02:14with them to get their money.

02:16They wanted to use diamonds to launder their money, and this task was delegated to the

02:20Wolfson family.

02:22The second threat to the family comes from the prosecutor, Joe Smets.

02:26She was looking into the Albanians but then turned towards the corruption in the Diamond

02:55Noah proposes a plan to give Smets what she wants and simultaneously get her and the Albanians

03:01With Kara's help, he robs the Canadian mining company next door to the Wolfson office.

03:06The loot is to be divided into three parts.

03:10One part goes to Kara and Noah in London.

03:13The second part belongs to the Albanians, and the third is reserved for Noah's family

03:18Kara gets her part in London, and Noah's family won't receive the diamonds until the

03:37Smets agrees to the plan, but when she reaches the location that Noah gave her, she finds

03:41it empty.

03:43There are no diamonds.

03:44Later, Noah discovers that someone inside the police force tipped the Albanians about

03:49the raid, allowing them to hide the diamonds somewhere else.

03:52This means that Smets has nothing, so she can't go after the Albanians, which implies

03:56that the primary threat still lingers on his family.

03:59However, he can get the prosecution off his back, so he gives Smets something else to

04:03work with.

04:05However, this means that he won't be able to leave Antwerp anytime soon.

04:09His alternate life in London is gone, and he can't go back there anymore.

04:13Moreover, he starts to feel increasingly at home in Antwerp and is eventually placed in

04:17the same seat as his father, making him the de facto leader of the Wolfson family.

04:22What happens to Kara and the Albanians?

04:25When Noah went to London for a fresh start, he ended up working for Kara McCabe, a mob

04:29boss who controlled the drug scene of South London.

04:32He fell in love with her daughter, Joanne, and had a son, Tommy.

04:36Joanne died, but Noah kept working for Kara.

04:39While handling his family's problems in Antwerp, Noah collaborates with Kara to handle the

04:43Albanians.

04:45He also clarifies several times that he will always choose his family over her.

04:49He reiterates this in the end.

04:52Noah strikes a deal with Smets.

04:54She will drop the charges she'd accumulated on her family and the secret bank that handled

04:58their money.

05:00In return, he'd get her the stolen diamonds and the Albanians.

05:03When he fails to deliver both these things, Smets threatens to take him into custody and

05:08send him to jail for any charges she can easily slap on him.

05:11There is only one thing that Noah can do now.

05:14He doesn't know where the Albanians relocated the diamonds, but he does know that part of

05:18it is already in London with Kara.

05:20Noah gives the details of Kara's operation to Smets.

05:24If he can't give her all the diamonds, he will give her a part of it, enough for the

05:27news to make the headlines.

05:29He is allowed to go free, but hellfire reigns on Kara's operation in London.

05:34When the diamonds are found in her possession, she is arrested.

05:38The seizure of the place from where she ran her operations also means that the prosecution

05:41will have enough to build a case against her and send her to prison for a very long time.

05:46In return for some lenience in her sentence, Kara gives up the name of the lawyer who had

05:50set her up with the Albanians.

05:52In Antwerp, the prosecution approaches the lawyer and is persuaded to come under witness

05:56protection in return for testifying against the Albanians, he signs the papers, indicating

06:01that he is ready to go through with it.

06:03However, in the next scene, he is shot dead, presumably by the Albanians, which means that
