00:00I cannot believe we are already doing this, but we are.
00:09Game of the year, question mark, won.
00:12That's how we'll detail what happened yesterday in Kansas City between the Chiefs and the
00:17Bengals.
00:18Frankly, it was a very good football game, a 51-yard field goal as time expires.
00:25KC wins outright at home, 26-25.
00:29The Bengals close closer to a touchdown underdog, 5.5 points for most of the week, 6.5 in many
00:36spots by the time we got to kick yesterday inside Arrowhead.
00:41Since he does cover the number, frankly, Cincinnati was the better team, but Kansas City always
00:46takes advantage of the opportunities.
00:49And you can yell that the Chiefs have the refs on their side.
00:53It was the right call.
00:54What we are referring to, final offensive possession, about a minute or about a half
00:59a minute left in the game, 4th and 16 for Kansas City.
01:04Mahomes rolls out to his left, tries to heave one up to Rasheed Rice.
01:08He goes up into the air to get it.
01:11He is contacted before the ball arrives by the Bengals' secondary member, Dajon Anthony.
01:17It was called pass interference.
01:19It stinks that in a critical moment, a yellow flag determines the outcome of a football
01:24game.
01:25But frankly, again, Donnie, it was the correct call.
01:28KC survives, wins by one, 26-25.
01:31The Bengals do cover.
01:33Yeah, absolutely, it was the right call.
01:35But you hate to see it sometimes, like a fourth and long, where it's like a Hail Mary play
01:38where you're hoping that happens.
01:39But the defensive back played it so poorly, you had to make that call in that critical
01:43moment.
01:44It's the reason, Ben, sometimes we see Hail Marys at the end of the game.
01:46They let a lot more go because the refs are like, look, you're not going to get a bail
01:49out here in the back of the end zone on the 70-yard Hail Mary, which you didn't deserve
01:53to win that football game.
01:54And I understand that.
01:55It's like in the NBA, let them play over the final two minutes.
01:57They deserve that call and they got it.
01:58But also, let's keep in mind, the game was pretty even with the referees.
02:01I mean, the Chiefs had some really big calls go against them, even in the fourth quarter
02:04on holdings and illegal use of hands to the face.
02:06So it was kind of even.
02:08But the Chiefs did end up winning that game.
02:09But let me say this, the Bengals are going to get Tee Higgins back.
02:12Jamar Chase is going to work his way back into, let's just say, form, right?
02:16Some of the younger wide receivers on that Bengals team like Yoshivash really stepping
02:20up.
02:21He saw Burton with a late catch, one catch for 47 yards.
02:23I think they're going to be OK.
02:24I'm not panicked about the playoffs because I think they can make it in because also we'll
02:27take a look what happened in their own division.
02:29But look at the Chiefs here, barreling out of this one, played an OK football game opening
02:34night.
02:35And if that toe gets down the back of the end zone for Isaiah Likely, is there a team
02:37that you would not want to face more than the Baltimore Ravens on a two-point conversion
02:41with Lamar Jackson, a quarterback?
02:43I think they might have lost that game, but they didn't and they're 2-0.
02:46But let's just also take a look at how the game played out.
02:47Isaiah Pacheco is a dominating force in that offense.
02:50We have Dr. David Chow coming on the show a little bit later.
02:52I can't wait to ask him because Pacheco leaving the game injured with a boot on, crying in
02:58the locker room.
02:59If he's down for a long time, that's devastating.
03:01And also, look at the wide receiving core here for the Kansas City Chiefs, man.
03:06Not only do you have, you know, Marquise Brown, who's not going to come back for the regular
03:09season at least, and who knows if he's back for the playoffs, slide down that list.
03:13Travis Kelce, basically invisible opening night.
03:16One catch, five yards on Sunday afternoon.
03:18Look, I'm not saying he's lost a step or two at this point, but usually you're going to
03:22feature one of the highest paid players, maybe the best, best tight end in the history of
03:27the NFL.
03:28That's not happening.
03:29So now you're telling it's all on Rasheed Rice once again to lead your offense?
03:32Granted, again, as I said, the Chiefs are 2-0 and that's all that matters.
03:36But there are some, you know, faults in the foundation right now for the Chiefs that we
03:40got to watch out for, Ben.
