00:00Steelers beat the Raiders 32 to 13. Big performance by the Steelers. Defense
00:09played great. Two touchdowns for Justin Fields. Najeh Harris got in the end zone
00:13for the first time, which we had on the board on Friday. So that was good to see.
00:17Here is Mike Tomlin afterwards, Scotty. Of course, very happy to get back in the
00:23win column. Can't say enough about TJ that hadn't already been said in terms
00:28of his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. It is special. We're not
00:34surprised by it, but it's still special. I thought penalties slowed us
00:39down some, particularly early in the game. Self-inflicted wounds, holding calls and
00:44things of that nature kind of stopped the fluidity in which we were moving the
00:47ball. I thought once we got over that, we were playing the style of ball that we
00:51desired to play. Just really appreciative of getting back on track
00:58and handling our business and winning because that's what this business is
01:01about. Look, you know, that's great and everything. I saw the game differently. I
01:08saw two things. I thought Harris had a big game. He had a big 36-yard teddy down
01:13the sideline. He ran for over 100 yards on 14 carries and he was very physical.
01:19And then the other thing was I had him on a prop over 10 and a half yards. That
01:25was quick money. And then the other thing I noticed was how good Fields was. Fields
01:30made so many plays with his feet. He got out of that pocket, ran for a teddy, ran
01:36for another one. I mean, the guy was all over the end zone and all over the field
01:41making first downs, rushing, getting outside, cutting back, breaking angles,
01:46getting first downs that way. He was in trouble several times behind the line of
01:51scrimmage and still busted off 15-yard runs and everything else. I think what he
01:57did for my money, Fields solidified that job, Mike. He's the starting quarterback
02:05of the Steelers. There's no way they can go to Russell Wilson, who never plays
02:09with his broken down body and calf, the way this guy's playing. That was a great
02:15game. Two totties, he threw for 145. He didn't need to throw the ball. And when
02:18he did throw the ball, he threw strikes to Pickens and others. He made plays left
02:24and right to Austin. You name it, Fields is the Steelers' starting quarterback.
02:30And Najee had a huge game. And their defense is sick. And I thought the Raiders,
02:35they're awful. Aidan O'Connell is awful. Minshew's better than him. Any way you
02:41slice it, but he stinks too. So they stink. Their team stinks. Crosby can shove
02:46whoever he wants. He's a great player, but they have nothing else. That's a
02:50terrible football team.
02:53Aidan O'Connell is not a, he's not a starting NFL quarterback. He's just not.
02:58You can't, you can't, I don't care what you would put around him. He is not a
03:02starting quarterback in this league. And as far, I saw one of the Steeler guys,
03:06one of the guys who covers the Steelers, I think it was this morning, tweet out,
03:09they do like a little bit of a breakdown. And I guess the right side of the Steeler
03:13line was having some trouble yesterday. Why? Because Max Crosby's over there.
03:17There was like five or six plays that this person broke down that if Russ was
03:22back there, probably doesn't get away. And it ends up being sacks or things like
03:27that. And because of Fields' elusiveness and his mobility, he turned all six of
03:33those plays into positive gains for the Steelers. Whereas if it was Russ back
03:39there, or even guys in the past, they probably would have been sacks and the
03:41guys would have been crushed. So I, if that guy seeing that, you know that Mike
03:46Tomlin and the Steeler staff is seeing that when they're watching the film as
03:50well, I'm with you. I think that that solidified Fields for a while. I don't
03:55think there should be any question for the next few weeks about who's going to
03:59be the starting quarterback for the Steelers. Fields has that job.
