00:00It's an opportunity that we see from our organisation to showcase what we do in terms of our capability,
00:19our resources, our business, to a group of young adults, and we've made reference to
00:24the term young adults because they're Year 10 to Year 12, and an opportunity where they're
00:28considering and pondering potentially being police, which we think is a great, great choice,
00:33a great opportunity. So we've decided to come together with the Youth Command and Police
00:37Recruitment to showcase what we do, our day-to-day business, and say, you should be a cop. There's
00:45so much capability within our organisation, there's over 200 career pathways that we have,
00:50and this is just a limited amount, but again showing tactically, strategically what we
00:55do, and we have the dog squad, we have our technical police, we have our prosecutors.
00:59Recruitment right across the board is a challenge for Australasian police organisations at the moment,
01:12we recognise that, you know, we've got some vacancies right across the state, so on the
01:16back of Mr Woods, you should be a cop program, we're also in the north region, this is our
01:21launch of Be A Cop In Your Hometown, and people say, what is all that about? Well,
01:25that really is the opportunity for people to return to their hometown. Of course,
01:30there are conditions concerning that, but it is about conducting all those checks and providing
01:36some certainty, so when you go to the academy for your 16 weeks, we can say with some certainty,
01:41you can come back to your hometown.
