00:07A young PhD student of astronomy, Katie DiBiaschi, is working for the Subaru Telescope in Michigan
00:12when she discovers a comet that is passing by Earth.
00:15Her professor, Dr. Randall Mindy, congratulates her on the discoveries and after the comet was named after her,
00:21they calculated its path and came to the conclusion that the comet will hit Earth in 6 months,
00:26and because of its enormous size, it will cause extinction on the entire planet.
00:31At the edge of panic, they call NASA to inform them of this discovery,
00:35and the head of the Department for Coordination of Planetary Defense, Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe,
00:39tells them to come to DC to have a meeting with the president on this problem, which is now considered reliable data.
00:45They leave for the White House early in the morning and wait all day, not to hear a word from the president,
00:51whose priority is to resolve the scandal involving one of her candidates.
00:55Kate and Randall are joking about spending the night in a hotel where they call their loved ones
00:58and try to find peace in their voices, and that they can't say anything to them about what's going on.
