00:00Congratulations on all the different moments of success we're experiencing, but I got to ask you,
00:05how frustrating has it been with such a newsworthy summer to not be live?
00:11I am so grateful that we weren't on because it was too much. It was a lot and
00:20it just would have been like a big task. And look, we need the breaks, y'all. We are burnt
00:26out come May. Is there one news story that you were like, I mean,
00:31this, this, the comedy rights itself that really stood out for you this summer?
00:35I mean, all of breakdancing at the Olympics was, I was like, it didn't even have to have like any
00:44sort of viral moments that it ended up having. But I just, it would have been fun to just
00:48wear the hats and the track suits and all that. Like just the look of it,
00:51I would have, I would have appreciated. I would have deeply appreciated that as well.
00:55Now, now that Steve Martin will not play Tim Walz, who do you really hope will take on that
01:00role? Especially with Maya as Kamala? Maya as Kamala, I think it's whoever Maya
01:07is going to be comfortable with, but I feel like there's plenty of options. You've got,
01:11um, I don't know, great comedians. I think, I think a lot of people have like blown up
01:15Lauren's phone. And so I can't even keep track of who he has in mind. But there might be someone
01:20unexpected. I think there's like fun contenders. It's so funny how like people playing those roles
01:27as its own little race is its own little like public election, you know what I mean? But the
01:33decision is ultimately Lauren Michaels is, and he's so iconic, they made a movie about him.
01:37I hope more people discover his deal. I think he's very obscure.
01:42And I mean, SNL 50, which I can't believe it's already been 50 years of it being on.
01:48Other than your own contributions, which again, you keep me laughing. So that's why I was like,
01:53no, I need you to come back every day. I know you're burnt out.
01:56No, not anymore. I'm back.
01:57We're back. But what does it mean for it to see 50 years? And are there any standout sketches that,
02:02you know, made you want to be a comedian in the first place?
02:05Oh my gosh, so many. And like, still, I am inspired. Like, like, I think I think this cast
02:10that I'm in right now is phenomenal. There's like, the perfect cross section of every kind
02:15of comedic sensibility. You've got like TikTok comedians, and you've got like,
02:19trained sketch comedians, you've got standups, you've got like Club Com. It's like,
02:23you've got body horror comedians, like in Sarah Sherman. And so anyway, I love the current era.
02:26But like, 50 years is like, the totality of that is so astounding. And for it to all be sort of
02:34like, curated by this one person is pretty incredible. And I think it's gonna be a very
02:38fun celebration in February. And I think everybody should watch. It's gonna be really fun. But yeah,
02:43so many sketches. I mean, I remember watching Maya Rudolph and Anna Gostergi, a Gemini's twin,
02:48when I just moved to the States. And I'm presenting with Maya tonight. It's surreal.
