00:00Hi! We're welcomed by Miss Diane Lane. I'm good, how are you doing?
00:03Very well, nice to see you.
00:04Nice to see you as well.
00:05Hi! Hello, gorgeous. I know. I wasn't going to say it, but I'm going to say it. Very demure. Very mindful. Very cute.
00:13I was trying to be zeitgeist-y.
00:15There you go, there you go.
00:18Here for Feud, such a fantastic show. Such a fantastic, I mean, obviously, Capote, Truman Capote is the center of it.
00:26Absolutely.
00:27But surrounded by an incredible ensemble of women.
00:30What was it like to work on this show and film, particularly those scenes at the restaurant where there's just all of you, or at the dinner tables when there's all of you?
00:36You know, Tom Hollander did such an amazing job as Capote. We were believing it. We were in it.
00:42He was on an A-level, and that's where you want to be as an artist, and working with so many fabulous women that I've admired for years.
00:52And we were all kind of starstruck with each other, I've got to be honest.
00:56So, it was a lovely experience. And to talk parenting, and talk years of experience, and being a woman in the business, it was a very bonding time.
01:05Beautiful. You also worked with Treat Williams, who's posthumously nominated. What was that process like, because you two intertwined?
01:14You know, whenever you share a love scene with somebody, it's bonding in a different way.
01:19It's sort of, you go through this awkward experience together.
01:22He was so gentlemanly, and so gracious to allow me to lead.
01:27And, you know, I say that because there's a potential for humor there, which he would love.
01:35Because it's awkward.
01:36Yes.
01:37But, you know, every day he brought his largest esprit to work. He had a force of joy that I just...
01:46If you had a bad day, you couldn't do it around him.
01:49You know, he would make you feel better just by being in his energy field.
01:52And not everybody has that, so he lives on through his work, and I know he was very, very proud of this work in particular.
01:59And the fact that he's nominated is super touching to many people.
02:02That's beautiful, beautiful sentiment.
02:04You said something, though, that struck me. I have two. I have a nine-year-old and a four-year-old.
02:08Okay.
02:09What were some of those mom conversations that came up, and that...
02:12Well, we had all different kinds, because we were talking about the fact that there's an app on your phone where you can watch your child now.
02:18And we were thinking, if that had existed when others of us were doing it at that young age, would we be able to function?
02:25I'd just be constantly staring at my phone.
02:27So it was just watching how different people have done it over the changing of how things get done with technology and whatnot.
02:35So, yeah, it was interesting.
02:37Just different stories of different ways, and that's what parents do, right?
02:42It's a village. It's a team sport.
02:44Can't do it by yourself. Need lots of advice.
02:46Yep. And momming in Hollywood is probably a whole other beast.
02:50Oh, I'm sure. Yes, then there's that.
02:52And then there's that.
02:55Feud was based on real people, for the most part.
02:59Is there other real-life stories that you'd love to be able to tell one day?
03:04Oh, my God. You caught me.
03:06I mean, of course. I just can't think of them right now on this red carpet moment.
03:10It's live from the Emmys.
03:12I mean, I won't say my daughter is my date tonight, so the parent question is very sweet.
03:18So I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you.
03:20That is fine. I'll just find you later, and we'll pretend we're still on camera, and we'll do it.
03:23Okay. Fair enough. Thank you.
03:25Enjoy your Emmys. I appreciate it.
03:27Yes, of course. Aw, thanks so much.
03:29Have a good night. Your daughter.
