00:17Well, congratulations on Malibu, we were just saying how it's a show that obviously so many of us grew up watching
00:23and now to have a new version of it, what is it like to finally have this out in the world?
00:27Because it's been announced and you were working on it and now it's finally going to be out here.
00:30We're so excited, Jenny Erman's done an amazing job creating this reboot, but it's unlike anything you've ever seen.
00:37It's not just an episodic, there's a whole other thing going on, there's a whole twist that people will really be surprised at.
00:44We've got a great cast, Sky here is my co-star, and we're having a, we're knocking it out of the park.
00:53Kathy Bates is excited about working with you, Sky, how do you feel about working with Kathy Bates?
00:57Oh, I pinch myself daily. Every morning I wake up, I'm like, what is happening?!
01:02I know what's happening, everything I ever imagined, everything that was ever on my vision board,
01:06everything that my mom has ever prayed for, for me, is happening.
01:11Oh, she wants me to tell you about the towels, my mom, growing up, my mom never missed an Emmys, an Oscars, or a Golden Globe,
01:17and she would take red towels and put them out in the hallway, and we would play dress-up, and that was our red carpet.
01:23And so now I'm here, with one of her favorite actresses, who my mom got to meet.
01:27And so I'm just, I feel like Cinderella being pulled out the attic, and the queen has brought me to the ball.
01:32And I'm just here to have a great time.
01:34Hands down, the best story, like, shout out to your mom, amazing work.
01:39To all the moms that are urging their kids into their dreams, that's so beautiful.

01:47What does it feel like to know that, obviously, it's a fantastic opportunity to get to lead a show like this,
01:52but also to lead a cast of people that have those feelings about getting to work on this?
01:57It's great, I mean, we have a wonderful cast with David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis, and Emmy Ecuador, and Jason Ritter,
02:07I mean, it's just amazing, everybody's so talented, and you know, the vibe on the set is so magical.
02:13I mean, we're all punching, hitting each other.
02:15Yeah, you have to bring your inner child to set, right?
02:17You have to bring your inner child to set, because we're all so goofy, but in a great way,
02:21that the adult leaves, so you leave the adult at home, and your inner child shows up, and we literally just play and laugh.
02:28And when you ask, how does it feel for the show to be coming out?
02:32It is, it's like having a baby that you've just been caring for and loving up on for months,
02:37and for a second, I forgot the whole world has to see it, and that was when I was like,
02:41oh gosh, September 22nd on CBS is right around the corner, it's happening,
02:45the world is going to see all of the hard work that we've done, and I'm just so pumped,
02:49and they're going to love it, and whatever you think Matlock is going to be, you have no idea.
02:54Well, I know that, we hope Matlock runs for years and years and years,
02:58but you had mentioned, at least in passing, that it might be your final project,
03:01and everyone was like, no, please no, what's that reaction been like since you said that,
03:05and everyone was screaming at their TVs and computers?
03:08Well, obviously I'm very flattered, but what I meant was, I had one foot out the door
03:12until I read the script for Matlock, and then I read Matlock, and I went, okay.
03:18Close the door, we're going to do some more. I want it to run for years, it's that great.
03:23I can't wait.
03:24I hope you're the Jay-Z of retirement, like I just need you to keep coming back.
