00:00This is George Priest reporting from Finch Farm after Sean Dyche just addressed the media ahead of their trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
00:08It was a very different start to a press conference I haven't experienced before as they released a club statement just minutes before the press conference was scheduled to begin
00:17from the Everton interim CEO talking about the latest on the John Texter takeover attempt.
00:24The American businessman currently holds 45% stake in Crystal Palace and he is looking to sell that before moving forward with a takeover attempt of Everton.
00:34At the moment he is currently looking for buyers ahead of a November 30th deadline which has been agreed with the club.
00:40He has exclusivity with Everton and Fort Harborshire to pursue this and the statement claimed that while positive conversations and progress continues to be made with Mr. Texter to formalise a deal with him
00:52there remains some work to be done before they complete the transaction.
00:56Now the statement essentially spoke about any updates will come officially from the club rather than Texter himself but as it stands he claimed that they are in the final week or two of knowing who the buyer will be
01:09which stands as a huge positive for Everton fans who are looking for a conclusion to their takeover saga which has rumbled on for over 18 months now.
01:17In terms of team news, Sean Dyche confirmed that Everton will be without Gerard Brantway once again.
01:22He has missed all four of their games so far this season across the league and EFL Cup and he will be a big miss but he is back on the grass training alongside Nathan Paterson and they should be up to speed within the next couple of weeks.
01:34The big news across the international break was that Seamus Coleman limped off with a suspected Achilles injury against England.
01:41Dyche claimed he will be touch and go for the weekend so we'll just have to see how he fares at training on Friday.
01:47Summer signing Oral Mangala could make his debut however having arrived on transfer deadline day.
01:53He signed from Lyon on a season long loan and he has plenty of experience with Nottingham Forest and he is currently with the group and excited and ready to go according to Dyche.
02:02So we could definitely see him feature and make his debut this weekend against Aston Villa.
02:08In terms of any other absentees, Yusuf Shomithy is still out for a few weeks and Summer signing Armando Roja is still a few weeks away having arrived with an injury.
02:17So we'll just have to wait some time for him to get on speed as well.
02:20In regards to Aston Villa, they have a couple of injury doubts against a couple of key players.
02:25They include Esri Konta who of course came off against Finland playing for England across the international break.
02:32Oli Watkins was scheduled to be with the group but he withdrew from England duty and there is a doubt whether he can start as well.
02:39But they do have John Duran in reserve who scored the winner against West Ham in the opening game and netted a second against Leicester as well in their second victory of the season.
02:50So they are in good standing in terms of that.
02:52And they may also welcome back Emi Guendias for the first time since last May after suffering an ACL injury that has kept him out for so long.
03:00So Aston Villa will be in a fairly strong position when they welcome Everton to Villa Park this weekend.
