00:00Mhm. Let's talk about how this game happened. So look Gardner Minshew. I've
00:09been rooting for Gardner Minshew. I hoped that Gardner Minshew could be a
00:12guy who rallies a team. But Gardner Minshew is a backup quarterback his
00:18entire career for a reason. Gardner Minshew is not some first round draft
00:22choice. He was forced into action in Jacksonville. He sat around in
00:26Philadelphia. He played last year in Indianapolis and played decently. And
00:31then now he's got a shot to be the Raiders starting quarterback. Why?
00:35Because the Raiders don't have a quarterback. Yeah. Aiden O'Connell is a
00:38fourth round draft choice who was forced into action as a rookie last
00:41year. The Raiders don't have a quarterback. By the way, listen, they
00:45also don't have a coach. I'm not here to beat up completely on Antonio Pierce
00:49today, but kind of like it. But why not? It sounds like it. Well, because I
00:53would love to see him like possibly be successful. But here's the problem for
00:57Antonio Pierce in in the AFC West. You've got Andy Reid, who's the best
01:02coach in the NFL. You've got Sean Payton, who has a Super Bowl to his
01:06credit and had his New Orleans Saints competitive for a championship
01:10practically every single year. And you've got Jim Harbaugh, who's been one
01:13of the most successful coaches in coaching at every level, no matter
01:17where he's been. That's what you've got. Antonio Pierce is your head coach
01:20and Gardner Minshew is your quarterback. I mean, the Broncos may not have a
01:24superstar yet, but they've got a first round talent. The Chargers have
01:28Herbert, and we all know what Kansas City has a quarterback. So before you
01:32even start the season, the Raiders don't have the coach to keep up with the
01:36division, and they don't have the quarterback to keep up with the
01:38division. And there is one play in particular that that will stand out
01:42from yesterday's game, where Gardner Minshew threw a ball behind the line of
01:47scrimmage and behind where he was standing, therefore making it a fumble.
01:52And it was it's probably the one play that we'll all focus in on. I'll focus
01:57in on a second one, but it was the one play that everybody will look at and
02:00go. This is what you've got a quarterback. I'll show everybody this
02:03play where Minshew throws the ball behind the line. Here it is. So,
02:08Minshew, I mean, dude,
02:11and by the way, to his credit, he saved the touchdown,
02:14you know, with no credit, no credit there. Stop that credit for anything
02:18for. Sorry, not his own. Honestly, I know you're going to focus on that,
02:21but that's what Gardner Minshew is. He's literally the modern day guts
02:24gunslinger. I will have games where he's just terrible like he was yesterday.
02:27And then when he plays a lower opponent, he'll throw for a ton of yards
02:31and a touchdown. That's what Gardner Minshew is. And everybody knows that
02:34if you've seen him in Jacksonville, if you've seen him in Indy, like that's
02:37what he is. I need to focus and I don't care if this is an overreaction or
02:41not. You need to focus on Antonio Pierce because what he did in that
02:44fourth quarter, right, is the most gutless, gutless, like white flag move
02:49that I saw all week. Well, let me let me say fourth and one right in the
02:53fourth quarter with seven minutes to go down six, right? Fourth and one on
02:59the Chargers 43. And listen, I know I saw the first quarter. We all saw the
03:04second and one and they got stuff. Thirty one. They got stuff for the one
03:07they got stuff. But at this point of the game, it's not the first quarter
03:12anymore. At this point of the game, knowing how much you're struggling,
03:17knowing how difficult it is for you to move the ball, you're on the Chargers
03:2143 and you punt the ball gutless. Yeah, one terrible move. That is that's a
03:27fireable offense. If it's week 10 11 12, we're having that discussion. We're
03:31having a brighter. Why do you think that punting the ball again? Let's just
03:35set it up. It's 16 10. There's seven minutes to go in the game. The Raiders
03:41have the ball on the Chargers 43 yard line. It's fourth and one. The Raiders
03:45have all three timeouts. So the question is down by six. Do you punt
03:51trying and try and get the Chargers down? You know, try and get them down
03:55inside the 20 yard line inside the 10 or do you go for it? Because you're
03:59down by six points. Imagine this. You're at a blackjack table and the
04:03dealer has a king showing and you've got a five showing you're in a losing
04:08hand. You have no choice but to hit. It's 16 to 10. A field goal doesn't
04:13work. And even if it was a field goal, it's 60 yards away. So forget about
04:16that. They'd already missed a field goal. So you're in a losing situation.
04:21So to think that you're gonna punt the ball, stop them and hold them and get
04:26the ball back and do something offensively. That was your moment in
04:29the game to go for it. And if you lose the game, you lose the game. But you
04:33had no choice but to go for it in that moment. And Antonio Pierce was gutless.
04:37Number one and inexperienced. Number two,
04:41we,
04:43I guess it's what we're gonna do on Monday.
04:47Okay,
04:48if I'm Antonio Pierce and I'm playing blackjack, I know what I got in my
04:52hand.
04:54I'm glad to use the blackjack analogy. I know what I'm looking at. I see what
04:58they have and I know what I'm looking at and I know what I've been doing up
05:02until this point. So for us, our best chance is to punt this thing, pin him
05:09and use field position to then try to get our offense on the better page and
05:14try this thing again.
