After attending the Sentuhan Kasih programme in Johor on Thursday (Sept 5), Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming told reporters that the Cabinet had approved the rebranding of the people's housing project (PPR) to the people’s residency programme (PRR).

00:00Now, the new ministerial committee has passed the renaming of PPR,
00:15which is the People's Housing Programme,
00:17to PRA, the People's Residency Programme,
00:25where various steps of improvement,
00:29more natural and conducive features will be introduced,
00:38under the new concept of PRA,
00:43where we will continue to provide funding.
00:47Even this year alone,
00:50KPKT has allocated almost RM1 billion
00:55for public housing projects,
00:58including PPR, Prima, SPMB.
01:04The PRA programme has just been approved by the Cabinet this week.

01:11this is the first place that we announced,
01:14where PRA, we actually have done a comparative study
01:19with other developed nations,
01:21where our benchmark is not less than HDP Singapore.
01:27We have studied the model of Australia,
01:29Japan, Korea and other countries.
01:32So, we believe that it will be a new concept,
01:35where PRA with higher quality,
01:40but the price is still very, very reasonable.
01:44So, we will announce it at the right time.
