00:00Here in Malaysia, we are committed to implement the necessary reform to ensure future growth
00:09is sustainable and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals as DGs.
00:16We can do this by integrating sustainable practices as part of the way we do business.
00:23This will enhance operational efficiency, meet regulatory requirements, and respond
00:30quickly to the growing demand from our citizens.
00:34For us at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the provision of adequate and
00:38affordable housing is always our main priority.
00:42Under the Trail Malaysia Plan, we are set to build 500,000 units of affordable houses.
00:49We have surpassed half of the target, which is 57.8%, and we will continue to deliver
00:55to meet the needs of our people.
00:58Under the People's Housing Project, we have completed 101,000 units of affordable houses
01:03for the low-income group.
01:05The commitment is ongoing.
01:07Under the 2024 Budget, we are currently building another 19 new People's Housing Projects,
01:15including 6,006 units that will benefit approximately 24,000 low-income households.
01:22We are now embarking on a new public housing model, called the People's Residential Programme
01:28PRR.
01:29The PRR is envisioned to be well-integrated, sustainable, liveable, featuring green spaces,
01:36community centres, and also commercially viable.
01:41That is often than the provision of a steady supply of houses but offer residents a place
01:47to live, work, and play.
01:50It will also incorporate green initiatives to ensure we abide by our commitment for energy
01:56transition and low carbon emissions.
02:00Ladies and Gentlemen, Malaysia continues to make best use of digital technology to help
02:05aggregate and manage housing development through the in-house developed Housing Interactive
02:10Management System, HIMSS.
02:13This system has significantly reduced the time taken to process developers' licence
02:18and advertising permits, resulting in a more efficient and transparent process.
02:24Additionally, Malaysia has embarked on developing big data analytics for housing, which will
02:30help create more effective data-driven policies for better planning.
