00:00On behalf of China-Malaysia Diplomatic Relations,
00:06the government is now negotiating with China
00:11to form the Smart City Alliance with Shanghai.
00:16Shanghai being the world's largest smart city.
00:19So we are hoping to have a sister city,
00:23sister city Putrajaya with Shanghai.
00:27So this one will be revealed soon.
00:36So we went to see that so much thing that we can learn
00:40from Shanghai.
00:42It is amazing, the progress that they have made
00:45in terms of their smart city initiative.
00:50Therefore, when we come back,
00:54Malaysia has 156 local councils.
00:58We find that there are only a few that can be fit
01:03the status of Shanghai.
01:05Being the biggest financial hub of China,
01:08that is Putrajaya.
01:10Putrajaya, whereby, is already at the final stage.
01:14I am now in the midst of preparing the cabinet paper
01:16to get the endorsement from the cabinet.
01:19So when Shanghai, Putrajaya, we can form a sister city,
01:25especially to work together.
01:28For example, in Putrajaya, I don't know whether
01:31have you visited the control room?
01:35Many of you may not.
01:37Whatever you do in Putrajaya,
01:40is all under surveillance.
01:43No matter how a car hits you,
01:45or how a car enters the alley,
01:47everything is under surveillance.
01:49And in Shanghai, it is even more comprehensive.
01:52They have facial recognition.
01:54You don't think that you can escape?
01:56So when you have this, the city is safe.
02:00There is no case of theft.
02:02Nobody dares to do that, because they know
02:05everything you do is under surveillance
02:08by the HD camera.
02:11Are you saying that we are going to do the facial recognition?
02:14Of course, if we have the technology, why not?
02:17This is only the beginning.
02:20Like Lao Tzu said, a thousand journeys begin with a single start.
02:24Of course, I know that it also involves a lot of financial implications.
02:28But if they already have the facial recognition technology,
02:32of course, it is proven that it can be used.
02:36Why not?
02:38That will make our city super safe.
02:40Nobody dares to molest you,
02:42nobody dares to grab the bags from you,
02:44because they know that they will be caught.
02:47And that HD camera is befitting for the evidence in court.
