01:09Nestled along the Cook Inlet, just outside of Anchorage, Alaska, lies an area with a

01:18It's the kind of place where people come to get away from the hustle of the lower 48.
01:25Cindy and Harold Murphy moved here 11 years ago from Las Vegas.
01:32Coming up to Alaska was a dream that both my husband and I had, you know, various times
01:36in our lives that we kind of needed to be up here.
01:39It was everything that we were looking for.

01:52I want to get out, get a little rural environment, a little more laid-back atmosphere.

02:03The couple lives with their daughter, Annie, and Cindy's mother, Judy.

05:02One night, as her grandmother sleeps nearby, Annie and her new friend stay up late.

05:23She just doesn't sleep at night, and neither do her friends, so they were out in the yard

07:33After experimenting with witchcraft, 16-year-old Annie Murphy starts to feel uneasy in her new home.
07:42Annie decides to keep the eerie experiences to herself.
07:47I was concerned about my daughter.
07:49When I asked her what was going on, almost immediately she would clam up about it.

09:06We saw this face in the window.
09:08They said they saw a face looking out the window of my mom's home.
09:12Well, it was grandma. You probably woke her up.
09:14No, no mom. I know it wasn't grandma.
09:16They were very uncomfortable.
09:18Her friend loved coming over and spending the night with Annie and stuff, but they didn't want to be left alone.
09:22They were really scared of it.
09:24Cindy reassures the teens that it was just their imagination.
09:29My daughter thought the house was haunted.
09:31They were out in the yard. It was the middle of the night.
09:33Of course, they were going to get the creeps.

09:47The next day, Cindy checks in on her mom.

14:20For the past few weeks, 16-year-old Annie Murphy has been acting irrationally.

14:28I was grappling with trying to understand what was going on with my daughter.

17:17I went to him and we talked about my mom.
17:21He wanted to make it okay with me because he knew I was upset and I was worried for my mom.

17:29Cindy was constantly concerned and distressed at watching your mother go downhill physically.
17:35It's a frightening thought to a daughter, I mean, because you start to realize, well, there's a mortality involved.

17:42But Harold senses that Cindy has more on her mind than her mother's health.

17:48Well, she thinks mom's cabin is haunted.

17:54What if she's right?
17:56I think there are a lot of possibilities to cross off the list before we get to that one.
18:02And then that's when she told me, she thought, we had a problem with paranormal over there.
18:09As far as paranormal goes, I really didn't put much credence into it.
18:13I didn't really put much faith into the fact it really existed and I wasn't really worried about it.
18:17I just put it off as, okay, it's teenage girls, you know.
18:20He wasn't really a believer.
18:22He thought I was making something out of nothing.
18:25The activity increases to nearly daily disturbances.
18:29She would call me almost every night.
18:31Things would get knocking around and she'd give me a call going, it's starting.
18:35And I would run over there and this went on for months.
18:44Cindy's mom requires constant monitoring.

18:57I dug out the walkie-talkies and charged them up so that we would be in constant contact

21:18She had not been that clear-headed and she was confused and she was doubting herself.

22:55Yes, she's breathing, but she's not answering me.

23:03Judy is rushed to the local hospital.

23:22When I started seeing the injuries she had when she was in the hospital,

23:27You could see where somebody had gripped her arms so tight, they almost broke the skin.

23:38But if you take your fingernail and just push on your wrist and hold it down,

24:25She was in renal failure, so that's what they were concentrating on.
24:28At one point, her heart started beating too fast, so they had to stop her heart and start it again.

24:52During that time, I was an emotional wreck.
24:59I am so sorry.
25:04While Judy remains in a state of shock, Cindy desperately tries to figure out who or what attacked her mother.
25:13But with no signs of a break-in, Cindy begins to wonder if her mother and daughter are right.
25:20Could their property be haunted?
25:23I was angry. I was trying to find out what happened.
25:26A lot of the things didn't seem to have any explanation.
25:30After a week in intensive care, Grandma Judy returns home.
25:35Judy's granddaughter, Annie, has been troubled by a dark entity ever since she started experimenting with witchcraft.

28:10Outside of Anchorage, Alaska, Cindy Murphy's mother, Judy, has been viciously attacked by what she believes to be a dark entity with evil intentions.

29:02Although Cindy's husband, Harold, is not convinced, he conducts research on the paranormal.
29:08He orders a digital recorder, often used by investigators to capture electronic voice phenomena or spirit voices.
29:17Well, in my mind, the only way I could solve the problem was first to get an understanding of it.
29:21I spent probably three weeks online, on the internet, checking with all the paranormal groups around the country, all the equipment involved.

31:12I had the walkie-talkie charged for seven hours. It was totally charged, and it was good for 12-hour operating time.

32:40I was scared. I wanted her out of there. I wanted her over at my house.
32:44It was like walking on eggshells. You were always on guard.
32:48There was no, you know, relaxing. You wanted to make sure you didn't miss something or turn your back the wrong time.

33:09After months of tension and fear, paranormal technology investigations come to investigate the haunting.
33:18When I arrived, you could tell that they were just very terrified.
33:22And their voices would crack sometimes when they talked and they were just very concerned about the situation that they were in.
33:30Based on everything the family has told Rob, he believes he knows what kind of entity is roaming the house.
33:38The incidences that you've described to me lead me to believe that you do have a demonic presence in your house.
