South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison by the Seoul Central District Court on Tuesday (Sept 3) for repeated drug use.

The 37-year-old actor was accused of abusing propofol and other drugs 181 times between 2020 and 2022, disguised as cosmetic procedures.

00:38The court ordered Yoo's immediate detention after handing down the sentence, which included
00:43a 2-million-won fine and a surcharge of 1.54-million-won.
00:49Yoo has starred in numerous hit films, including the Netflix series Hellbound and the award-winning
00:54film Burning.
00:56His sentencing follows the recent death of actor Lee Sun-kyun, known for Parasite, who
01:01died after being questioned by police over drug use.
