The Son of Robin Hood (1958) Full Movie

  • last month
After a few earlier 'son of Robin Hood' films, this 1958 installment bit the bullet and took the title for real! The film sees the tyrannical Duke Simon de Roche imprison the regent Earl of Chester before the coronation of the "boy prince" (presumably Henry the Third!). The Earl manages to tip off the old guard of Sherwood Forest, but with Robin Hood long dead, they fear the people won't rally to their cry. When they hear Robin had a child, they dispatch him to England to lead their cause - only it isn't a son of Robin Hood, but a daughter, Deering Hood!

Starring James Bond's David Hedison (here Al Hedison) as Jamie, June Laverick as Deering Hood, David Farrar as Duke Simon Des Roches, Marius Goring as Earl of Chester, Delphi Lawrence as Lady Sylvia, George Coulouris as Alan A. Dale, and George Woodbridge as Little John.

00:03:46Squire Miles?
00:03:48Where's Little John? He said there would be news today.
00:03:51He's older, like the rest of us. He doesn't travel as fast as in former times.
00:03:55Is this the man who fought by the side of Robin Hood?
00:03:58All of us died a little with Robin, milord.
00:04:01Derosh grows stronger every day.
00:04:03Where is your spirit, men? Robin Hood would be shamed.
00:04:07Milord, forgive me.
00:04:10Time is short. Your news, Little John.
00:04:12Alan talks of the power of Derosh and Will talks of dying.
00:04:16Is this the force of men you promised me?
00:04:18Many would rally to our cause if only Robin Hood were alive.
00:04:21By your grace, they would rally to his name.
00:04:23That is why we meet. Your news.
00:04:26Though it's ten years since his death, his name still lives.
00:04:30From a traveler I learned that Robin Hood's only born, one Dearing Hood, now lives in Spain.
00:04:36A son?
00:04:37An heir.
00:04:38A leader.
00:04:39I have written him of our need. Here is his answer.
00:04:43By my father's name, I pledge my bow to your cause, the coronation of the boy prince.
00:04:49He arrives in Liverpool on the morning tide.
00:04:52I wonder if he'll be strong enough to oppose Derosh.
00:04:54With Robin Hood's blood flowing through his veins, he's strong enough for anything.
00:04:58I, squire, I must hasten to greet him.
00:05:00No, Will. I alone am the one he's expecting to meet.
00:05:03Squire Miles, this calls for a flagon of wine.
00:05:07Two flagons, your grace.
00:05:08This is the spark we needed.
00:05:10Pass the word to the men that we meet in the glen to welcome Dearing Hood.
00:05:14I can feel the thump of my quarterstaff on Derosh's shoulder.
00:05:20The alarm!
00:05:39They're on all sides. Your weapons, quickly.
00:05:55Caution, you men. The region must be taken alive.
00:06:08Hurry!
00:06:19The tunnel!
00:06:28Why, hide this top of their hearts.
00:06:39The region's in danger.
00:07:05The region and squire Miles are trapped.
00:07:07We'd better take him to the priory. He's sinking fast.
00:07:18Your grace.
00:07:21A traitor? An informer in our midst?
00:07:24How else could they have known of our meeting?
00:07:27Who among us would be in Derosh's pay? We're like brothers.
00:07:31Then we've lost a brother.
00:07:33They know our every move.
00:07:38We've lost a brother.
00:07:40We've lost a brother.
00:07:42We've lost a brother.
00:07:44We've lost a brother.
00:07:46We've lost a brother.
00:07:49His time grows short.
00:07:51Thank you, Prioress.
00:07:58It seems my hide was not so tough.
00:08:01We'll save your strength for Derosh's men.
00:08:04No.
00:08:07No, I leave that to you.
00:08:10And to Dearing Hood.
00:08:15Give this to him.
00:08:19His father cut it for me with his own hand.
00:08:30Part of us dies with him.
00:08:32A sad blow to your cause.
00:08:35True, kind lady.
00:08:37But not a mortal one.
00:08:40Alan, I can stay no longer.
00:08:42The morning tide must see me in Liverpool.
00:08:44One moment, John.
00:08:46Some of our hopes rest on his shoulders now that the Regent is Derosh's prisoner.
00:09:03Skip.
00:09:06At this hour of the morning, it must be Robin Hood's son.
00:09:10Take cover.
00:09:25Your name, stranger?
00:09:28A reception committee with a drawn sword.
00:09:31Such hospitality.
00:09:32I said your name, stranger!
00:09:34Stranger will suffice.
00:09:36Your name, stranger!
00:09:38Stranger will suffice.
00:10:36Up!
00:10:50Cold water will soon bring you around, my friend.
00:11:06Brisk rubdown is what you need.
00:11:37Hold on, you're in good hands.
00:11:39Keep your hands to yourself.
00:11:42By all that's holy, a girl.
00:11:45And I almost...
00:11:46Yes, you did.
00:11:48Now, if you'll be good enough to leave.
00:11:50Now, wait a minute.
00:11:53Not so fast.
00:11:55It isn't every day a lovely young girl comes to my rescue.
00:11:58Four to one. You deserve better odds.
00:12:01Well, how can I thank you when I don't even know your name?
00:12:04Keep your thanks. I'd have done the same for anyone.
00:12:07Now, go before I...
00:12:09Before you what?
00:12:10Before I run you through.
00:12:12Oh, you fight unfair.
00:12:14It's hard enough to keep my mind on the sword play.
00:12:23If matters weren't so pressing, I'd like to see more of you.
00:12:29I'd like to see more of you.
00:12:31I hope we meet again.
00:12:33Set fair legs.
00:12:35Oh, I should have let them run you through!
00:12:42My pardon, Friar.
00:12:59Come in.
00:13:20Oh, I beg your pardon. I've come to...
00:13:22No, please come in.
00:13:24Sit down.
00:13:27I'll get you some water.
00:13:34Dearing didn't mention that he was bringing his wife.
00:13:37His wife?
00:13:38Well, his letter states,
00:13:40Room 13, Mainsill Inn.
00:13:42Who else could you be but his lady?
00:13:51It just escapes me.
00:13:54You'd best sit down, little John.
00:13:59I'm Daring Hood.
00:14:01You?
00:14:03You?
00:14:04That's impossible.
00:14:06Your letter never stated that you were a...
00:14:08So, you assumed I was a man.
00:14:10Well, I am of Robin Hood's blood.
00:14:12You need a leader, and here I am.
00:14:14A slip of a girl leading a band of roughnecks?
00:14:17We'd be the laughingstock of England.
00:14:19There'll be no England once the Duke rules Sherwood Forest.
00:14:21The rest of the Lords will follow his banner
00:14:23and prevent the Prince from being crowned.
00:14:26If a woman can help save England, let them laugh.
00:14:29But, Daring,
00:14:32the men expect Robin Hood's son.
00:14:35He is their hope.
00:14:37They'd never rally behind a girl.
00:14:39Well, I will not leave until I talk with them.
00:14:42As my father often said,
00:14:44once the arrow leaves the bow,
00:14:46it must reach its mark.
00:14:51Let's go.
00:15:10This time he'll not get away.
00:15:12It is rumored that Lords Marlborough and Dover
00:15:14will join the Russia's army near Winchester.
00:15:17There's also talk of the Marquis du Val lending his strength.
00:15:21Ha!
00:15:51Come on.
00:16:22We've been tricked.
00:16:24That's Daring Hood! After him!
00:16:52I met the stranger at the inn before you came.
00:16:55Whoever he is, his loyalties are to the Crown.
00:17:13You make a fetching monk,
00:17:15but I prefer your other constables.
00:17:18You make a fetching monk,
00:17:20but I prefer your other costume.
00:17:22Sir Fairlegs?
00:17:24We owe you our lives and our thanks, sir.
00:17:26I'd do the same for anyone.
00:17:28But tell me one thing.
00:17:30Why do they call me Daring Hood?
00:17:32Well, they, like certain others,
00:17:34assume that Robin Hood must have sired a son.
00:17:36But he didn't. He never did.
00:17:38Now, Daring, please.
00:17:40You?
00:17:42The daughter of Robin Hood?
00:17:44Oh, well.
00:17:46I should have known by your untamed manner.
00:17:48And from your bold manner, sir,
00:17:50I can tell you're a man of courage and conviction.
00:17:53When the cause is right.
00:17:55Are you known hereabouts?
00:17:57Only as Daring Hood.
00:17:59Now get to the point.
00:18:01The point is the life of England.
00:18:03Since all assume that you are the son of Robin Hood,
00:18:06then play the part.
00:18:08What? Give my name to him?
00:18:10Little John, how could you?
00:18:12A man must bear the name.
00:18:14If I were to ask you to, I can decide for myself.
00:18:16And the answer is no.
00:18:18You said if the cause is right.
00:18:20Surely the bloody hands of the Black Duke de Roche
00:18:22are cause enough.
00:18:24I have my own cause.
00:18:26But cheer up, my friend.
00:18:28If men will follow a pair of pretty legs
00:18:30any other place,
00:18:32then why not into battle?
00:18:34Why, you...
00:18:44I'm more interested in you.
00:18:46For the sake of the cause, I mean.
00:18:48I'll warrant his cause as some shapely wench.
00:18:51Even your father had an eye for beauty.
00:18:54That makes a man no less a leader.
00:19:14Miles?
00:19:34Sir James.
00:19:45Or are my eyes playing tricks?
00:19:49No, Miles.
00:19:51Your eyes are as keen as ever.
00:19:53Jamie.
00:19:55I thought you were lost in the Crusades.
00:19:57No, only wounded.
00:19:59When I returned, I found my brother missing.
00:20:02The Black Duke holds him prisoner.
00:20:06Robert prisoner? Why?
00:20:08To force him to sign the abdication papers
00:20:11of the young prince.
00:20:13Jamie.
00:20:15Even as a boy, you were quick to anger.
00:20:17The Duke leads many men.
00:20:19If you let vengeance rule your mind,
00:20:22you'll be taken prisoner.
00:20:24I'll take it, whatever the risk.
00:20:26Bridal, you hate Jamie.
00:20:28You need many friends.
00:20:30Many friends.
00:20:32I'll tell you this.
00:20:34Robin Hood's son
00:20:36comes to lead the men of Sherwood.
00:20:39You both oppose the Duke.
00:20:42Seek him out.
00:20:45Enlist his aid.
00:20:59Who did this to him?
00:21:01They rushed his men while I was at the priory.
00:21:07A little while ago, your answer was no.
00:21:10Why this change of heart?
00:21:12A man has many reasons.
00:21:14One good one will do.
00:21:17It's to avenge the death of a dear friend.
00:21:19He died in my arms an hour past.
00:21:21This so-called friend.
00:21:23His name, sir?
00:21:27Squire Miles.
00:21:31I was with him during the attack.
00:21:34Good enough.
00:21:36Until our cause is won,
00:21:38you are dearing Hood.
00:21:40Here's my hand on it.
00:21:42And what of me?
00:21:44You leave me nameless without purpose or position.
00:21:47A beautiful woman always has a purpose.
00:21:50As for your position,
00:21:52I'm sure little John and I can think of something.
00:22:01Get word to Gillist to go once to Sherwood Glade.
00:22:04The Glade, my lord, but why?
00:22:06The foresters are gathering to welcome the son of Robin Hood.
00:22:09But why Gillist, my lord? He failed us in Liverpool.
00:22:11Why not go ourselves?
00:22:13The Marquis Duval is expected at any moment.
00:22:16Then permit me to go and stamp out those swine.
00:22:18I would that I could, but I need you here.
00:22:21Duval has not yet committed his forces.
00:22:23My lord, I thought the Marquis had decided to join us.
00:22:25This visit may determine that.
00:22:29Get Gillist to go once to the Glade and destroy everything.
00:22:32Make haste.
00:22:35A toast to the son of Robin Hood!
00:22:38To the son of Robin Hood!
00:22:41To the son of Robin Hood!
00:22:46Boy, you must be proud to serve such a master.
00:22:48Why, you...
00:22:49Such a youth. You'll get used to our rough ways.
00:22:55If it were not for the cause, I'd pour poison in your cup.
00:22:58I'm sorry.
00:23:01If it were not for the cause, I'd pour poison in your cup.
00:23:04Not so touchy, you.
00:23:05Ah, Alan, we've missed you.
00:23:07Dearing, meet Alan O'Dale.
00:23:09One of your father's truest friends.
00:23:11As a boy, I heard him speak of you often.
00:23:13Ah, the same brow, the same piercing eyes.
00:23:16There's no mistaking. You're your father's son.
00:23:18Alan, my page.
00:23:20Welcome, boy.
00:23:21Sit down, boy.
00:23:22I would that I could.
00:23:23What capture?
00:23:24Good fortune.
00:23:25We've captured the Marquis Duval and his lady on his way to visit Des Roches.
00:23:28Duval in our hands?
00:23:29Yes, he was to visit Des Roches for the first time,
00:23:31but I fear he'll be a bit delayed.
00:23:32I left him fuming at your farm.
00:23:34Des Roches wants to enlist Duval and his men for his march to the throne.
00:23:37There's time to question him about that later.
00:23:39Now let's eat and drink.
00:23:42The signal. We're discovered.
00:23:43Disperse. Disperse quickly.
00:23:59Let's go.
00:24:18We've been misled.
00:24:19There's no one here now.
00:24:21But they were.
00:24:23The son of Robin Hood and his vagrants disappear like quicksilver.
00:24:29I'll have a look.
00:25:00We'll be seen.
00:25:02If only an arrow could reach him.
00:25:03But it can't.
00:25:30Why, you're your father's equal.
00:25:32That's a shot worthy of any man.
00:25:34But it took a woman to do it.
00:25:36Into this culvert.
00:25:37What good am I as a leader if we have to hide like rabbits?
00:25:39We have strength.
00:25:40I could lead the men in a surprise attack against the castle.
00:25:42It would be no surprise.
00:25:44The spy in our midst would alert them of your coming as he did just now.
00:25:47We are powerless until we catch the traitor.
00:25:49Does this man leave no trail so we can bait him?
00:25:52Not a trace.
00:25:53But there is a trace.
00:25:54The messages he sends.
00:25:56Now, if I were inside the castle, I'd soon know our man.
00:26:00Inside the castle?
00:26:02What do you propose to do?
00:26:04Fly over the walls?
00:26:05Burrow under the moat?
00:26:07No.
00:26:08I'd ride through the main gate.
00:26:10The main gate?
00:26:11As the Marquis de Val.
00:26:13Now, since you hold him prisoner and his face is not known to Deroche,
00:26:16meet the new Marquis de Val.
00:26:19If you can be Robin Hood's son, why not a Marquis?
00:26:22Well, at least it would save me the thumpings I got as your pay.
00:26:24Ah, wait.
00:26:26Not only do they expect the Marquis, but his wife as well.
00:26:29Oh, yes, that's true.
00:26:40Now, for once in your life, you're going to be a lady.
00:26:43Now, get dressed or I'll dress you myself.
00:26:46How can I sit a horse or draw a bow in all this stupid finery?
00:26:49I won't wear it.
00:26:50Be quiet, will you? Don't make so much noise.
00:26:53Don't think you can treat me like a wife because I'm forced to play the part.
00:26:56The clothes. Get them on.
00:26:58It's your page. I'm still black and blue.
00:27:01As your wife, who knows what will happen?
00:27:05Are you dressing?
00:27:08Are you dressing?
00:27:12Answer me!
00:27:13I'm trying.
00:27:14All right.
00:27:17The Marquis de Val at your service.
00:27:20Well, it's almost time to leave.
00:27:22Are you ready, dearing?
00:27:23I'm just trying to get into this.
00:27:26Tell me, little John, who else knows of the plan?
00:27:28No one.
00:27:29Not even Alan O'Dale?
00:27:31Not even Alan.
00:27:32But he's my father's closest friend.
00:27:34With what's at stake, I don't even trust myself.
00:27:41Oh, by my oath.
00:27:46You're truly your father's daughter.
00:27:48Lady de Val.
00:28:18My Lord de Roche.
00:28:19May I present the Marquis and the Marquis de Val.
00:28:23Our warmest greetings.
00:28:26My apologies for not being present when you arrived.
00:28:30I trust my Lord Dorchester has served well in my stead?
00:28:33Most trusted.
00:28:34Il est tout plus calomte.
00:28:36Such a charming compliment could only come from a Norman lady.
00:28:40He's more handsome than I expected.
00:28:42But he's married, my lady.
00:28:44From what I've heard, that hasn't bothered him in the past.
00:28:48Surely my lady isn't suggesting...
00:28:49Not suggesting.
00:28:51Intending.
00:28:52May I present my sister, Lady Sylvia.
00:28:56I've looked forward to your arrival.
00:28:58With as much anticipation as my brother.
00:29:02Please join us.
00:29:05Frenchman is a very important guest, it seems.
00:29:08Look how the Duke welcomes him.
00:29:10Look at Lady Sylvia.
00:29:12She has her own design.
00:29:14He has a very pretty wife.
00:29:16That won't stop Lady Sylvia.
00:29:18And from what I hear of the Marquis,
00:29:20it never stops him, either.
00:29:22It's true.
00:29:23It's true.
00:29:24It's true.
00:29:25It's true.
00:29:26It's true.
00:29:27It's true.
00:29:28It's true.
00:29:29It's true.
00:29:30It's true.
00:29:31It's true.
00:29:32It's true.
00:29:33It's true.
00:29:37Dorchester doesn't seem too happy.
00:29:47I see you're wearing Lady Sylvia's favor.
00:29:51Ah, yes,
00:29:52but very soon, I hope she'll be wearing my ring.
00:29:58We expected you sooner.
00:30:00I came round about to avoid those bandits in Sherwood Forest.
00:30:03Ah, yes. We gather strength daily.
00:30:06I already have vows from my lords, Marlborough and Dover.
00:30:11Will their forces join yours near Winchester?
00:30:13That's to be decided.
00:30:15As for your own knights, will they join mine?
00:30:19That, too, is to be decided.
00:30:22I trust your decision is not too long delayed.
00:30:25The coronation is fast approaching.
00:30:27And what of the regent? Does he support your cause?
00:30:31He will shortly.
00:30:33A few more days of our persuasion, and he will.
00:30:45From what I hear of your reputation,
00:30:47I believe there are other matters you'd prefer to discuss.
00:30:51Other matters?
00:30:53Drop the pretense, Henri.
00:30:56I've heard of your escapades with the Countess Lafleur,
00:30:59and of your very close friendship with Lady Delise.
00:31:04You have?
00:31:05Of course.
00:31:07Word of your conquests has preceded you.
00:31:11I did not anticipate this development.
00:31:14It will develop further, Henri.
00:31:17You'll see.
00:31:19A very good game, Duval. Let's try again tomorrow.
00:31:22Good night.
00:31:23Good night.
00:31:24Oh, my apologies to your lady for keeping you so late at chess.
00:31:27Think nothing of it. My wife likes to retire early.
00:31:30We'll see you tomorrow, Duval.
00:31:32Good night, my lords.
00:31:36One moment.
00:31:38What is it?
00:31:39Be quiet. Follow me.
00:31:42What is it?
00:31:43Be quiet. Follow me.
00:32:11SILENCE
00:32:37I trust there's a purpose to all this.
00:32:39You'll be the judge of that, m'lord.
00:32:48Where does this water seem from?
00:32:50In the moats above. This tunnel leads outside.
00:33:09Good evening, Henri. Are you pleased with this development?
00:33:29You certainly plan well.
00:33:32As a child I used to hide here.
00:33:37My governess. And now, most convenient.
00:33:46Like the castle guards?
00:33:48And Dorchester.
00:33:51Then one can leave and return in secret.
00:33:55I trust you'll make full use of it.
00:33:58I intend to.
00:34:01That's all very well for the future, Henri.
00:34:04But what of now?
00:34:24Well?
00:34:26We're here to find a traitor, not for you to spend half the night with Lady Sylvia.
00:34:30I told you Duval has a reputation. I had to live up to it.
00:34:33Did you have to live up to it all over the castle?
00:34:35No, whatever I did was for the cause.
00:34:37I'll wager it was.
00:34:39And where did you learn how to speak French?
00:34:40I also speak Spanish and Italian.
00:34:42Well, you may know three languages, but Derosh should see you now.
00:34:45He'd hardly think you were a lady.
00:34:46Don't try to switch the issues on me.
00:34:48We were talking of your boudoir tactics.
00:34:51You sound exactly like a jealous wife.
00:34:53Jealous? Me jealous of you? Of all the male conceit?
00:34:57It's another wifely trait.
00:34:58You're insufferable.
00:35:01Only your aim is as sharp as your tongue.
00:35:11Enough, you wild cat!
00:35:27Now will you stop?
00:35:28Never! Never!
00:35:30Everything all right in there, my lord?
00:35:33Everything's fine, thank you. I stumbled in the dark.
00:35:40See? Now will you stop?
00:35:43Don't think this settles anything.
00:35:44Family argument never does.
00:35:47Now let's get to bed.
00:35:48Bed?
00:35:50Bed, bed, yes, bed. I assume you sleep at night. Most people do.
00:35:53Duval may have a reputation, but you're not going to live up to it in here.
00:35:58Now what would you have me do?
00:35:59Go to Derosh and ask him for another room?
00:36:01You can't. You just can't.
00:36:05Oh, but I can.
00:36:24That's right.
00:36:26You're as safe as in a nunnery.
00:36:30Good night.
00:36:53Good night.
00:37:13I didn't mean to frighten you, my lord.
00:37:15Finding you down here in the dungeons is most unexpected.
00:37:18I lost my way in these foul passages.
00:37:20I didn't know which turn to take.
00:37:22The cell for you didn't take that way to the regent's cell.
00:37:25How's that?
00:37:26The guards down there have orders to kill anyone who approaches.
00:37:30Well, thank you for warning me.
00:37:32If you will follow me, my lord, I will lead you back to safety.
00:37:38Tell me, have any of your prisoners ever escaped?
00:37:40Never.
00:37:42They'd need a lot of help to overpower my guards.
00:37:45And so, my lords, Marlborough and Dover,
00:37:49the Marquis Duval is here with us at the castle
00:37:53and has thrown in his strength with ours.
00:37:57I trust this will sway you in our favor.
00:38:01Has Duval already agreed?
00:38:03Not yet.
00:38:04But then your brother is an expert chess player.
00:38:07He uses one knight to trap another.
00:38:10You also play with people's feelings.
00:38:13I do?
00:38:14Yes, mine.
00:38:16I noticed your interest last night in Duval at dinner.
00:38:21You know, Charles, you have a jealous nature.
00:38:23Have I?
00:38:24Yes.
00:38:26You mistake my hospitality for flirtatiousness.
00:38:30I stand corrected, my dear.
00:38:41Mm-hmm.
00:38:44Dispatch this with all haste.
00:38:51Ah, good morning, Duval.
00:38:53My lord.
00:38:54What tidings do you bring?
00:39:00Now the fools gather their meager arms and supplies at Dunstan's cave.
00:39:04Probably to march here and rescue the regent.
00:39:06Exactly.
00:39:07Join us, Duval.
00:39:09Your sword will be welcome against these outlaw swine.
00:39:12Well, I...
00:39:13Oh, come, I insist. It'll be great sport.
00:39:16Fine, my lord. I look forward to it.
00:39:18Good.
00:39:29A strange melody, my lord.
00:39:31A strange melody, my lord.
00:39:33I've tried sage, basil, even my special elixir of brown snails.
00:39:38Yet the marquess fails to respond.
00:39:41For the dinner, he was hale and hearty.
00:39:43The pain is nothing compared to my regret that I can't ride with you.
00:39:48The regret is ours.
00:39:49Perhaps he finds the prospect of blood sickening.
00:39:53It's a most convenient illness.
00:39:56Convenient?
00:39:58Does he fever, milady?
00:40:00Like a fire.
00:40:08Like a furnace.
00:40:12Rest well, my friend.
00:40:14Come, Dorchester.
00:40:16Our men await us in the courtyard.
00:40:18Perhaps I should wait behind.
00:40:20In case he takes a turn for the worse.
00:40:22Nonsense.
00:40:23Our apothecary is well qualified.
00:40:31I'll be waiting.
00:40:38Now, if you need me...
00:40:39Yes, yes, I know.
00:40:46Like a furnace.
00:40:47How are you going to warn the others with her waiting to ambush you?
00:40:50Just be thankful she showed me a way out of the castle.
00:40:52If she traps you in that arbor, we'll never save the supplies in Dunstan's care.
00:40:55But, lady Sylvia, the attack that concerns you most.
00:40:57What? That pouted wench?
00:41:00Don't worry.
00:41:01If I don't get through, it won't be because of her.
00:41:06A smile becomes your more.
00:41:09Take good care of me, wife.
00:41:11And see that I'm not disturbed.
00:43:00There's no time to lose.
00:43:02To rush means to destroy our arms and supplies.
00:43:04And our sentries give no signal of his coming.
00:43:06He takes the south road to attack by surprise.
00:43:09Now summon your men and ride with haste.
00:43:11We'll meet at Dunstan's cave.
00:43:14He takes C'mon like his father.
00:43:16Yes.
00:43:29DUNSTAN
00:43:59DUNSTAN
00:44:29DUNSTAN
00:44:59DUNSTAN
00:45:09Our stealth was wasted.
00:45:11Not even a guard.
00:45:14There.
00:45:29Halt!
00:45:59Halt!
00:46:21The supplies!
00:46:22Remain here. The rush will recognize you.
00:46:29Halt!
00:46:59Ah, bless the luck. My horse went late.
00:47:01Don't berate yourself, Alan.
00:47:02We needed you badly.
00:47:03But, well, it's all over now.
00:47:05Ah, looks like a good day's work.
00:47:06Not good enough.
00:47:07The rush still lives.
00:47:09And the traitor feeds him information.
00:47:30DUNSTAN
00:47:44I have no taste for this sort of thing.
00:47:46After what happened at Dunstan's cave,
00:47:48the Duke must vent his anger on someone.
00:47:56This is your last chance.
00:48:00DUNSTAN
00:48:14I will not sign if I do not live another day.
00:48:17Very well.
00:48:19You may get your wish.
00:48:21But for the moment...
00:48:29DUNSTAN
00:48:55Now will you agree?
00:48:59Never.
00:49:01My lord, I was told to give you this in all haste.
00:49:15Come, Dorchester. Let him grovel.
00:49:18ARI
00:49:26Ari, it wasn't polite to have kept a lady waiting.
00:49:29I feigned illness too well.
00:49:31My wife would not leave my side.
00:49:34Your lack of resourcefulness disappoints me.
00:49:39Well, my good Marcus.
00:49:41And how is your health?
00:49:42Much improved.
00:49:43A remarkable recovery.
00:49:45We prosper too.
00:49:47Marlborough and Dover bring 3,000 men
00:49:49to join my banner near Winchester within 48 hours.
00:49:54Soon I shall rule England.
00:49:57How now, Duval?
00:49:59Do you still hesitate to join us?
00:50:03Your power is overwhelming.
00:50:16DUNSTAN
00:50:21But 3,000 men?
00:50:23We are lost.
00:50:25Not if Doroshe's smashed before he takes command.
00:50:28They'll never march without his leadership.
00:50:30We've got 48 hours to act.
00:50:32But how? The traitor's still loose.
00:50:34I've thought of that.
00:50:36Now, here's a plan.
00:50:39A plan for tomorrow.
00:50:41Don't tell the other men until the last moment.
00:50:44Then the traitor won't have a chance.
00:50:46We'll assemble here at sundown.
00:50:48It's the safest place I know.
00:50:49Good luck, friend.
00:50:51You can depend on me.
00:50:53Until we meet within the castle.
00:51:06Little John, most welcome.
00:51:08Good evening, Prioress.
00:51:10I must call on you again for help.
00:51:12You need only ask.
00:51:13I will assemble the men here at sundown tomorrow.
00:51:16Of course. What for?
00:51:18No one is to know until that time.
00:51:20As you wish, Little John.
00:51:22Until tomorrow, Prioress.
00:51:23Until tomorrow.
00:51:26I wonder what interesting news you're going to take to Deroche tomorrow.
00:51:29Now, my pretty one, it's time you were fed.
00:51:56One moment, Duval.
00:52:02Or is it Dearing Hood?
00:52:05Does it matter now?
00:52:07I'm sure you know the way.
00:52:11I think I was seeking an unfaithful husband.
00:52:14And what do I find? A traitor.
00:52:18I...
00:52:19Baiting a minnow and catching a whale.
00:52:22I underestimated your jealousy.
00:52:24You'll have plenty of time to regret your mistake.
00:52:27I'm not a traitor.
00:52:29I'm not a traitor.
00:52:31I'm not a traitor.
00:52:33I'm not a traitor.
00:52:35I'm not a traitor.
00:52:37You'll have plenty of time to regret your mistake.
00:52:40Now open the gate.
00:52:57Stand there.
00:53:07Stand there.
00:53:37Stand there.
00:54:08Stop! Stop, I command you!
00:54:10Duval betrays us!
00:54:12Lay down your arms.
00:54:15Stop! Stop, I command you!
00:54:17Duval betrays us!
00:54:19Lay down your arms.
00:54:29You've killed a loyal friend.
00:54:31Why did you disobey me?
00:54:33I had no choice, my lord.
00:54:35He provoked the duel.
00:54:37Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:54:39Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:54:41I had no choice, my lord. He provoked the duel.
00:54:43On what grounds?
00:54:45I cannot discuss the subject.
00:54:46I demand an answer.
00:54:48The matter is a delicate one, my lord.
00:54:51The matter of life and death is never delicate.
00:54:53Speak, or you forfeit your life.
00:54:57My lord, the answer is for your ears alone.
00:55:01I have no sword.
00:55:04Now then, why did you run Dorchester through
00:55:07when you could have stayed your hand?
00:55:09Because of a lady's honor.
00:55:11He said you betrayed us.
00:55:13That's right, my lord.
00:55:14The lady he referred to was your sister.
00:55:17Lady Sylvia?
00:55:19You forced me to speak.
00:55:22You have a glib tongue, Duval.
00:55:25You've explained everything.
00:55:28I have.
00:55:31You've explained everything.
00:55:34Everything except your presence in these chambers here.
00:55:38Blunt.
00:55:39Yes, my lord.
00:55:40Take him to the dungeon.
00:55:43There's much to be explained here.
00:56:01You were asking if prisoners ever escape.
00:56:03Now you'll find out firsthand.
00:56:31Robert.
00:56:33Robert.
00:56:42Robert.
00:56:54Who speaks?
00:56:57Who speaks?
00:57:01Jamie.
00:57:04Jamie?
00:57:07My brother, Jamie.
00:57:10I have no brother.
00:57:12He lies in a foreign grave.
00:57:15But it's me, Robert.
00:57:18Subtle trick is this with which Derosh is trying to torture me.
00:57:24But it's no trick.
00:57:26I'm here, next to you.
00:57:29Tell Derosh he can destroy my body.
00:57:33But he cannot destroy my mind.
00:57:35But, Robert, you're wrong.
00:57:37I speak the truth.
00:57:39Leave me in peace.
00:57:41My brother is dead.
00:57:44But my voice.
00:57:47Robert.
00:57:49Robert, my voice.
00:57:51Surely you know my voice.
00:57:53I no longer trust my own ears.
00:58:23Robert.
00:58:54It's the ring you gave me when I left.
00:58:58The lion's crest.
00:59:01Remember, only you and I knew of it.
00:59:06Jamie.
00:59:08Jamie.
00:59:13Squire Miles told me you'd been taken prisoner.
00:59:17Who betrayed you?
00:59:19It was a woman.
00:59:21It was a woman.
00:59:23In the pay of Derosh.
00:59:25A woman?
00:59:27The name.
00:59:28Prioress.
00:59:31The Prioress, are you sure?
00:59:33Beyond any shadow of doubt.
00:59:35It was Derosh who placed her there.
00:59:38Then we're betrayed.
00:59:40We?
00:59:44Friends who planned to save us.
00:59:46And England.
00:59:49They meet at the Priory.
00:59:59Who is it?
01:00:00Lady Duval.
01:00:02Oh, you may come in.
01:00:06Good morning.
01:00:08My condolences to you, Lady Sylvia.
01:00:11They're appreciated.
01:00:13And mine to you.
01:00:15And mine to you.
01:00:17That is why I must speak to you.
01:00:19You pick a most inopportune time.
01:00:21My mind is still full of grief for Charles.
01:00:23Could it not wait?
01:00:24Not while my husband is held prisoner.
01:00:27But he committed a serious crime.
01:00:30We both know why he killed the Baron.
01:00:32We do.
01:00:34When your brother questioned you about the jewel last night,
01:00:36why did you deny any feeling for my husband?
01:00:38Because I have none.
01:00:40I know you've been seeing him.
01:00:46Oh.
01:00:51And suppose it were true?
01:00:53You could save his life by admitting it.
01:00:55And ruin my reputation?
01:00:57I plead with you as one woman to another.
01:01:03Since you know all about your husband,
01:01:05how can you plead on his behalf?
01:01:08How can you humble yourself? Where is your pride?
01:01:11Because I love him.
01:01:13I know all about his indiscretions.
01:01:16But I still love him.
01:01:19And so you assume I am one of his indiscretions.
01:01:23Please leave me to my grief.
01:01:33But you do yourself a grave injustice.
01:01:35Injustice? How so?
01:01:38Well, I never meant to tell you,
01:01:41but Henri set you apart from the others.
01:01:44You were the one woman he could not accept as an indiscretion.
01:02:02You're free.
01:02:04Thanks to you.
01:02:06Why do you say that?
01:02:08I met Lady Sylvia in the hall.
01:02:10What had to be done.
01:02:12For the cause?
01:02:14For the cause.
01:02:18For the cause.
01:02:22Yes?
01:02:24My lord, the duke requests your presence below.
01:02:26I'll be along presently.
01:02:28I was ordered to accompany you.
01:02:30I'll be along presently.
01:02:35Why does he place you under guard again?
01:02:37What does it mean?
01:02:39Listen carefully.
01:02:41While in the dungeon, I learned the traitor's name.
01:02:43It's the Prioress of Sherwood Forest.
01:02:45She uses a falcon to carry the messages.
01:02:47But you'll warn them of the attack you planned.
01:02:49Worse. The men meet at the Priory to discuss the attack.
01:02:52Now use the tunnel. You've got to warn them.
01:02:54But what of you?
01:02:56If you fail, nothing matters.
01:02:58The man who told you of the Prioress.
01:03:01Who was he?
01:03:03My brother.
01:03:06I wondered why you were so curious about Dorosh's prisoner.
01:03:11Good luck, dearie.
01:03:13Jamie.
01:03:35Blunt told me you were placing Arya under guard again.
01:03:38For what purpose?
01:03:40A most worthy one.
01:03:42Look, I've already told you...
01:03:44I can't forget Dorchester's dying words.
01:03:46He betrays us.
01:03:48I know your method, Simon.
01:03:50You can't torture him like...
01:03:52I don't intend to.
01:03:54I mean to have him torture someone else.
01:03:56Someone else?
01:03:58A forester captured this morning.
01:04:00If Duval kills him, we're sure of his allegiance.
01:04:05If not...
01:04:06Who is this forester?
01:04:08A most valuable prize.
01:04:11One of their leaders.
01:04:16Stand where you are.
01:04:30We'd best hurry. The meeting's started already.
01:04:36Now that you know the plan, it's vital that we act in haste.
01:04:40At Pike's Crossing, I'll divide you into three groups.
01:04:44The advance group will cut off the road leading direct to the castle.
01:04:49The other two groups will take cover on both sides.
01:05:05After this night's work, you can rest.
01:05:08I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:10I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:12I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:14I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:16I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:18I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:20I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:22I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:24I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:26I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:28I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:30I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:32I'll take care of the rest.
01:05:34After this night's work, you can rest, my pretty bird.
01:05:48On to the castle!
01:06:04On to the castle!
01:06:30Greetings, Duval.
01:06:32I've arranged some sport.
01:06:34You'll have the honor of stretching a captive.
01:06:37And as my enemies are your enemies...
01:06:40I'm sure you'll make his death a painful one.
01:06:44Bring him in.
01:07:02All right.
01:07:15We await your pleasure.
01:07:26Now we'll soon see which side he's on.
01:07:32All right.
01:07:54These bindings need tightening.
01:07:56I commend your thoroughness.
01:07:59One of you men, tighten those bindings.
01:08:21I trust there'll be no more delays.
01:08:25I found this outside the wall.
01:08:27There are footprints near the tunnel.
01:08:29Flood the tunnel and secure the gates.
01:08:31I've already done so.
01:08:32Seize him!
01:08:51Guards!
01:08:55Guards!
01:09:06The other way!
01:09:13Our advance group is using the tunnel.
01:09:15But they'll be drowned unless that gate's opened.
01:09:25It's flooded.
01:09:27There's still headroom. We can get through.
01:09:30Put your weapons down.
01:09:55What about the gate?
01:09:57I can open it.
01:10:25It won't open.
01:10:27Let me try.
01:10:34We've got to go back.
01:10:36We can't.
01:10:38We must get inside and open the garbage together.
01:10:41I'll draw up the guards. Then you open the gate.
01:10:47Hurry it!
01:11:07We've got to go back.
01:11:10Watch out.
01:11:20It's no use.
01:11:22It won't move.
01:11:25Let's try to get back.
01:11:40It's Alan!
01:11:42Alan, come back!
01:12:10Quickly, the weapons!
01:12:12You best find the regent and release him.
01:12:14He's safer where he is.
01:12:16Maybe you're right.
01:12:26He looted my men.
01:12:28Stupid all of you! Cover every archway.
01:12:30I'm alone.
01:12:34This way to the drawbridge.
01:12:37This way to the drawbridge.
01:12:59There he is!
01:13:02After him! I want him taken alive!
01:13:04After him!
01:13:34After him!
01:14:04After him!
01:14:16Get the woman!
01:14:34Get the woman!

01:15:34Get the woman!
01:16:04Get the woman!
01:16:34Get off this rope or I'll run you through.
01:16:36They fight for the cause.
01:16:38Yes!
01:17:04Let's go.
01:17:34Let's go.

01:18:18The castle is ours.
01:18:20Now for the rush.
01:18:35She was unaware of it, but she helped our cause.
01:18:37Release her.
01:18:39You heard her, lads.
01:18:41The daughter of Robin Hood says release her.
01:19:04Let's go.
01:19:34We give our grateful thanks.
01:19:36And now to Winchester for the coronation.
01:19:39Long live the king!
01:19:41Long live the king!
01:19:43Long live the king!
01:19:47Dearing Hood,
01:19:49you have carried your father's name proudly.
01:19:51Thank you, sir.
01:19:53At last I have my name back.
