00:52In Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizuddin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Perak Tunku Zahra Salim graced
00:59the event held at Dewan Bandaranipo.
01:02About 600 people from 108 contingents took part in the parade, including those from state
01:08agencies, private bodies, NGOs, learning institutions and school marching bands.
01:16In Negeri Sembilan, the event was held outside the Serembarne City Council.
01:21Some 80 contingents brought together 5,000 participants paraded before the guests and
01:26state government leaders.
01:28One of the highlights was the convoy of 30 vintage vehicles from the State Antique and
01:32Classic Cars Club dating back from the 1930s and 1980s.
01:38In Kerdah, more than 35,000 people flocked to Dardaran Medan Barndar for the event.
01:43Many of them dressed up in national colors to enliven the atmosphere.
01:48The parade featured 5,000 participants including children of the Fire and Rescue Department
01:53personnel and an aerial display by the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
01:57The cadet police team from Sekolah Menengah Sultanah Asmah emerged as the winner in the
02:02Best Uniformed Body contest in the parade.
02:06In Sabah, the athletes who won 120 medals in the Sukma Games joined in the event.
02:12Huge crowds witnessed the parade to show their unity and patriotism cheering the 180 contingents.
02:19The state government also marked its first celebration of Sabah Day this year to reflect
02:24its independence from British colonial rule on August 31 in 1963.
