00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. appointed Joseph Francisco Ortega as the new chairperson of the National Youth Commission of NYC.
00:10Ortega will replace Duterte Youth Leader Ronald Cardema, who has been in the same position since 2018.
00:18According to the Presidential Communications Office or PCO,
00:22Ortega was appointed as a part of the government's push to represent the voices of youths at the highest level of the government.
00:32Because of Ortega's good background and advocacy, the President believes that the NYC can benefit from this.
00:41It is also the goodness and prosperity of youths across the country.
00:46In addition, the President is confident that with Ortega's leadership,
00:51the NYC will remain an important force in building a strong country
00:56and that youths will have a positive impact on the community.
01:02Before he left for NYC, Ortega became the regional director of DOT Region 1.
01:08He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Business Administration at Ateneo de Manila.
