00:00Seventy possible victims of illegal recruitment are in jail in Silangkavite.
00:04They are students who paid in a language training facility that promises work abroad.
00:10J.P. Soriano reports.
00:16In this resort in Silangkavite, the Volant Academy for Language Excellence, Inc. is building a place.
00:22It is a language training and tutorial facility.
00:25The Volant Academy asks for up to 500,000 pesos per student in exchange for a job in Germany.
00:33The problem is that the Volant Academy does not have a license to recruit and deploy workers abroad.
00:41That is why their operation is considered illegal.
00:45It's actually a front for a recruitment scheme going to Germany.
00:49It will send workers, apprentices to Germany without the necessary permits.
00:55The Department of Migrant Workers and Silangkavite Municipality approved the facility.
01:00They also placed a closure order.
01:03The operation was postponed due to the tip of several government agencies
01:07that are recommending the facility of their enrollments to partners in Germany
01:12or to every licensed recruitment agency in the Philippines.
01:16We have already discussed with them what kind of recruitment agency this is.
01:19We will call them for possible filing of cases.
01:23Aside from the operation that was postponed,
01:25seventy individuals who are staying in cottages and paid in a language training facility also arrived at the resort.
01:34We will explain what happened to them.
01:37We will help them to file a complaint.
01:39And to make sure that no students who enrolled in this language training facility will be able to leave,
01:45the DMW contacted the German Embassy in the Philippines and the Bureau of Immigration.
01:50According to the people of Silang LGU,
01:53the owner of the resort does not know that the facility is being used in this kind of business.
01:59In the face of large-scale complaints and syndicated illegal recruitment,
02:03the closed language training facility
02:06refused to give permission.
