00:16was one of the greatest mathematicians of all time, a Muslim.

00:19Worked in the golden age of Islam.

00:20He's the guy who came up with not just algebra, but algorithms.

00:23Without algorithms, you wouldn't have laptops.

00:32and intellectual achievements of the West.

00:43and author of The Golden Crucible, points out that there would be no Renaissance,

00:46there would be no Reformation in Europe without the role played by Ibn Sina and Ibn Rushd

00:51and some of the great Muslim theologians, philosophers, scientists

00:54in bringing Greek texts to Europe.
