00:00When the Prophet ﷺ asked one of his companions, Ubayy ibn Ka'b,
00:03he asked him, what is the greatest ayah in the Qur'an?
00:05It's a very difficult question.
00:07The Qur'an has so many verses,
00:08and they're all great verses.
00:10How can you choose one?
00:11In fact, if I take you to a shop and ask you to choose a t-shirt,
00:13you will take 30 minutes.
00:15But Ubayy ibn Ka'b is asked,
00:17choose the greatest verse in the Qur'an now.
00:20And Ubayy ibn Ka'b says, I don't know.
00:22Allah and His Messenger know best.
00:23So the Prophet ﷺ says, no, tell me,
00:26what is the greatest verse in the Qur'an?
00:28And then Ubayy ibn Ka'b says, is it?
00:31Allahu la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum.
00:37The Prophet ﷺ hit him on the chest out of happiness.
00:41And he said, you have destroyed all of knowledge.
00:44You killed it, as we say today.
00:46You smashed it.
00:47You've done a brilliant job.
00:49How did he know that this is the greatest verse in the Qur'an?
00:52Because this verse describes Allah.
00:56And it describes Allah in the most complete way.
