Level crossings to close in North Wales to improve services
Trains around Wales have seen better days, especially in some areas, so in an effort to improve services in North Wales, a number of level crossings will be closed to get more trains running. It’s hoped that this will be a cost effective way of getting more passengers on the rails.

00:27Transport for Wales have said that in an effort to get more trains in the north of the country, they will close four level crossings, which will allow more services to run given the added safety measures level crossings come with.
00:40It means that from 2026, three trains will run every hour instead of the current two, giving a big boost to the total capacity of trains across North Wales.
00:48Although many will see it as a lacklustre way of improving trains in the north, the plan is incredibly cost effective.
