00:00Mohideen Yassin will be charged with sedition at the Goa Musang Sessions Court tomorrow morning.
00:08Sources in the Attorney General's Chambers said the charge, under the Sedition Act,
00:13is over a speech the former Prime Minister made during the Ningiri by-election campaign.
00:19In the speech, the Perikatan National Chairman claimed he was not invited by the former king
00:25to be sworn in as Prime Minister after the 15th general election,
00:29despite allegedly having the numbers to form the government.
00:33His remarks led to 29 police reports lodged against him and a rebuke from the Pahang Palace.
00:39Mohideen had defended his statement as factual and said he had submitted 115 statutory declarations
00:46to back his claim. He will be the third opposition leader to face sedition charges,
00:51following PN Election Director Sanusi Noor and Bersatu Information Chief Razali Idris,
00:57both of whom claimed trial.
