00:00I know you're going to bristle when I read the first sentence of this next one.
00:04Okay.
00:05I don't think you know me well enough.
00:06Josh Reynolds is trash.
00:08Right?
00:09Yep.
00:10No, you know me well.
00:15This text goes on to say, anybody inside the organization or in the draft will be just
00:19as good or even better than Josh Reynolds.
00:21Reynolds benefited from the environment of Jared Goff, Amon Rice St. Brown, and the number
00:26one tight end Laporta and the number one offensive line and the number one running
00:30back duo in the league.
00:32Don't believe me?
00:33Look at what Jamal Williams has done in New Orleans after record-breaking TDs in Detroit.
00:37Well, I think that's an apt comparison going to the running back versus a wide receiver.
00:43And you know, I will say this, his point about the team around him, I'll grant that it's
00:48a really good team around him, but I think you're discounting what Josh Reynolds meant
00:52to this team.
00:54When they traded for him halfway through the first season that this new regime took over,
00:58that's when things started to click, because he already had a comfort level working with
01:01Jared Goff when the two were together with the Rams.
01:05And he became a reliable, dependable receiver.
01:09Unfortunately, we have the NFC Championship game dancing in our heads, and we downgraded.
01:14But Josh Reynolds caught 40 passes last year, 32 of those were for first downs, five of
01:20them went for touchdowns.
01:23So that's a hell of a percentage.
01:26Do I think that they can make that up?
01:28I do.
01:29I think they'll make it up in the aggregate, not necessarily with one wide receiver.
01:33I think you're going to see much more of a role for Jamison Williams getting passes.
01:38I'm not going to be, after watching a couple practices, I am not going to be surprised
01:43if I'm on Ross St. Browns, if I'm on Ross St. Brown, improves on his 119 receptions
01:49last year.
01:51When you talk about familiarity and reliability and the guy you have chemistry with, Jared
01:56Goff and I'm on Ross St. Brown have it.
01:58When Jared Goff needs a big play, he's looking for 14 and 14 gets open.
02:02We're also the show that just over a year ago started the, if we were a message board,
02:07we would have started a Khalif Raymond appreciation thread.
02:11And that was when he was the number four wide receiver.
02:14Now more will be expected, as Dan Campbell's anointed him the number three wide receiver.
02:19I always kind of thought of him as a slot receiver, but they're going to, I guess, play
02:23him outside with Jamo or move Amin Ra outside a little bit more, but whatever.
02:29Well here's when you know, like you start looking at percentages, right?
02:33And Khalif Raymond last year had 35 receptions on 44 targets.
02:40They only missed on nine passes when they targeted Khalif Raymond.
02:44Now to me that says that this is kind of a check down guy, option one not there, option
02:48two not there, tight ends not there.
02:50Okay, here's Khalif.
02:51I got him.
02:52Boom.
02:53Yep.
02:54And what a great thing to rely on.
02:56Yep.
02:57That you've got a guy who can get open when others are not and you have to find some way
03:02somehow let's do it here and throw it to him and oh, 14 yards per reception looks pretty
03:07good too.
