00:00Ship in a Bottle.
00:12By Andrew Prahin.
00:14For Catherine.
00:16Mouse and Cat lived together.
00:19But there were problems.
00:21Mouse wanted to eat ginger snaps.
00:24Cat wanted to eat Mouse.
00:27Mouse wanted to enjoy the ship in a bottle.
00:30Cat wanted to eat Mouse.
00:33Mouse wanted to lie in the sun.
00:36Cat wanted to lie in the sun.
00:38And eat Mouse.
00:40Mouse dreamed of a better life.
00:44So Mouse filled the bottle with ginger snaps, said her goodbyes.
00:49And pushed off.
00:52Mouse sailed peacefully down the quiet river.
00:56Her new life was off to an exceptionally pleasant start.
01:00But then there were seagulls.
01:03Rude grabby seagulls.
01:05Mouse dove deep into the bottle as the birds fought to get at the ginger snaps inside.
01:11Eventually, the seagulls tumbled away scrapping over the single stolen treat.
01:17Mouse cautiously returned to the top of the bottle.
01:21This time, she left the ginger snaps inside.
01:25That evening, the little vessel floated toward the bank of a rich rolling pasture.
01:31As the bottle bumped ashore.
01:33Mouse imagined making a snug little home in the stone walls above.
01:38And here was a friend to make.
01:41Mouse offered her new friend a ginger snap.
01:44The rabbit loved ginger snaps.
01:47More friends arrived.
01:49They too loved ginger snaps.
01:52But when all the ginger snaps were gone.
01:55The rabbits decided it was time for Mouse to move on.
02:00Left with nothing but a few crumbs, Mouse drifted downstream for another day or two.
02:06Eventually, even the crumbs ran out.
02:09Mouse's stomach rumbled.
02:12The sky rumbled back.
02:16Then, with a shock of lightning, a terrible storm arrived.
02:22The ship in a bottle was tossed roughly between the waves.
02:27Mouse frantically tore the sails from the ship and stuffed them into the bottle's opening.
02:33Then she hung on with all her strength.
02:36When the storm finally grumbled away.
02:39Mouse found herself in an enormous city.
02:42After dawn, Mouse looked out upon an expanse of quiet trees and grass nestled among the
02:48towering buildings.
02:50She removed the rudder from the back of her ship and paddled.
02:54Mouse was awfully tired when she reached the shore.
02:58As she climbed down from the bottle, a chipmunk appeared.
03:03Mouse drew herself up nice and tall.
03:05I don't have any ginger snaps she said.
03:09Her stomach rumbled.
03:11The rain returned and the chipmunk left.
03:15But the chipmunk came back.
03:17And he brought a gift.
03:20In the days that followed, Mouse met all sorts of new friends.
03:25She helped them.
03:27And they helped her.
03:29There were no ginger snaps in her new home.
03:32But Mouse discovered french fries when some very nice seagulls invited her to dinner.
03:39She continued to enjoy the ship in a bottle, usually with a few neighbors.
03:44And whenever the sun's rays warmed the ground.
03:47Mouse would find a tidy little spot of her own and stretch out.
03:52Without a care in the world.
04:09The End.
