00:00Students across Bristol have received their GCSE results.
00:07Grading has returned back to normal this summer, and standards have been maintained from summer

00:14The numerical grade system continues this year, with a grade 4 being a pass, which is
00:19a lower grade C in the old system, and a grade 7 being comparable to the bottom of the old

00:27Overall, 21.7% of grades in England were grades 7 or above, compared to 21.6% in 2023, and
00:3867.4% were grade 4 or above, compared to 67.8% in 2023.
00:46Many local schools are celebrating, including Bristol Cathedral Choir School, which is celebrating
00:5185% achieving grades 4 or above in English and Maths, and Collingate School achieving
00:5750% of grades at 7 or higher.
