00:00So, as ever, it has been a very busy week in the city of Bristol. So, Adriana, can you
00:05tell me what is our first hot news story in the city this week?
00:09Well, Bristol Pub has launched an urgent appeal to support pensioners after MPs voted to cut
00:16the winter fuel allowance. Sean Donnelly, the landlord of the Free Lines in Bedminster,
00:23started a fundraiser campaign to purchase hot water bottles, blankets and bedding for the
00:30elderly and needy. The fundraiser comes after the Labour Party was accused of punishing pensioners
00:36after MPs voted to cut the allowance for millions across the country early in the week.
00:43Thank you, Adriana. So, we will see how that one pans out over the coming months.
00:48So, shall we move on to our second top news story? Tell me about that.
00:53A popular Bristol pub that dates back to 1752 has been put up for sale. The Winter Bear on
01:00St Michael's Hill in Kingstown was originally a coaching inn some 272 years ago for those
01:07looking to trade from the docks at the bottom of St Michael's Hill. The listing on the pub
01:12follows the sale of the Robin Hood, which is another long-running pub further down the hill.
01:18Thank you, Adriana. So, again, we will see how that one pans out in the future.
01:22Obviously, one that a lot of locals are talking about. So, shall we move on to our
01:27final top news story? Tell me about that. A new independent bakery has opened in South Bristol.
01:35Beverley's Bakery has opened its doors on what was formerly Uppercrust on East Street in
01:42Bedminster between East Street Fruit Market and Hippie Flour Café. The bakery sells products
01:48including cake slices, pastries such as croissants, mini treats and pain au chocolat,
01:55among many others. Ah, so that is a very exciting one.
