00:07news that senior government officials were allegedly involved in a syndicate which supplied
00:11Bangladeshi migrant workers to Malaysia.
00:15On Monday, the Dhaka Tribune reported that Bangladesh's anti-graft agency was probing
00:19a syndicate led by four ex-MPs from the former government, which sent around 450,000 workers
00:25to Malaysia in one and a half years.
00:28The report said the syndicate involved senior Malaysian and Bangladeshi government officials.
00:33It added that the syndicate had allegedly embezzled 8.9 billion ringgit in the process
00:37of sending the workers to Malaysia, with many of them returning to Bangladesh when they
00:41were unable to find jobs.
