00:00Hi, I'm Laura, I'm one of the trustees of Claremont Park Community Centre and we've just finished our refurb of the building and now we've got a brilliant space for local people in Claremont.
00:12So we've got a brand new kitchen, we've got a whole new room and we're just ready to get loads of people from Claremont into the building to use it.
00:20We've already got loads of stuff going on, we do chatty cafe, chat and play, adult learning courses, we've got spiritualist groups, karate and loads of other stuff going on but we'd love for you to get more involved too.
00:35So if you're from Claremont and you've got loads of ideas for what you want in your local community centre, find us on social media and get in touch.
00:42We'll just take a look round the newly refurbished Claremont Community Centre. This is the main community space for use by groups, all been renovated recently.
00:56We have the new kitchen area which is being used for loads of things as well, looks fantastic.
01:07If we take a walk through here we can see the old entrance from the former library as some of the original features have been retained.
01:16And here's a plaque commemorating the change of use from the former library into a community centre which is now nearly 20 years ago.
01:29If we walk on through this is the garden room where we can see there's lots of evidence of all the activities that go on here, from books to children's toys.
01:43This has also been fully renovated as part of the initiative.
01:53And outside we can see there's a fantastic garden space which is looked after by a great team of volunteers.
02:05There's plenty of opportunity there for Greenfinger volunteers and there's also an orchard which is hoped to develop in the future.
02:15So all in all a brilliant local project for this building which was well known as a library and has now got a great lease of life for the future as a great community centre.
