00:00It is now effective to distribute the expanded health care benefit for our public school teachers.
00:07According to the Education Department, teachers will start receiving P7,000 next year.

00:18Alan admitted that for his 18 years as a teacher,
00:21he cannot avoid getting sick because of the weight of the responsibility as a teacher.
00:26He said that sometimes he has a problem with where to withdraw the check-up.
00:30The approved medical allowance of teachers was only P500 in 2020.
00:35We cannot feel that because what is P500 in this time?
00:41Even if we have a physical education, P500 is still not enough to be spent.
00:48Our physical check-up, our annual P.E., is every year.
00:54We cannot feel the P500.
00:56The teachers like Alan admitted that the government will support them.

01:03the expanded health care benefits will be distributed to public school teachers next year.
01:10From P500, teachers will receive P7,000 medical allowance.
01:17This is more than 1,300% higher than what teachers used to receive.

01:24this is a big thing for the comprehensive insurance coverage of teachers.
01:29Alan was happy because for him, this is a recognition of the government for the sacrifices of teachers.
01:35He added that they will no longer have a problem with where to get the medical allowance in case they get sick.
01:42We are thankful to the government because they saw the hardship of the teachers.
01:46We have already passed a time where the government should also take care of the well-being of teachers in terms of health.

02:12after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the salary adjustment under Executive Order No. 64
02:19where aside from the salary adjustment,
02:21qualified government employees will also receive P7,000 medical allowance as a subsidy for their HMO-type benefits.
02:32The tax-free P5,000 teaching allowance received by teachers will also be added.
02:38It will be increased to P10,000 from the school year 2025 to 2026 and for the following years.
02:46It was also possible for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to approve the return to teaching act.
