Blind Senior Dog Was Found Roaming The Streets
Blind senior dog who once had a family was found roaming the streets. Our producer Chelsi was moved by her story so we sent her on a shopping spree to pick out some new jammies

00:04She was found just wandering the streets.
00:08The people that had originally adopted her were nowhere to be found.
00:12When we first saw her up close, it was heartbreaking.
00:17We weren't really prepared for the neglect that was quite obvious
00:21based on how crusted over her eyes were, based on her skin condition.
00:26I got you. I got you. I got you. I got you.
00:32Since Bailey is blind and partially deaf,
00:35we really had to learn how to communicate with her
00:38in a way that is different from most of our other dogs.
00:43Maybe she can't hear us. Maybe if you smell my fingers.
00:49We have to use a lot of gentle touch to, first of all, just let her know that we're there.
00:55And then as soon as she realizes that a human is there, she gets very happy.
00:59And we have to just steer her.
01:02She inevitably does kind of bump into things, but it doesn't really seem to bother her.
01:08We weren't expecting her to be as trusting and as happy.
01:17Based on the condition, we thought she would have been a lot more shy and timid
01:22since she clearly hadn't been treated well by humans, but she was so friendly.
01:26Her tail was nonstop wagging.
01:35Because she was left outside for however many years,
01:41she has to wear pajamas to protect her skin from the sun.
01:53Here she is, sleeping on the bed.
01:57And she got up all by herself.
02:00She just seemed really sweet, really nice.
02:03She just needed a place to stay.

02:09So I jumped at the opportunity.

02:16The dodo was really moved by Bailey's story.
02:20And they sent us on a shopping spree to pick out some new jammies.
02:28We led her to the clothing section.
02:44We found a nice, perfectly fitted USC jammy.
02:50I think she would do really well with a family that had another dog,
02:55because I think she does want to play.
02:57Someone with a nice big backyard that she could explore, especially being blind.
03:03If she could just be let out in the backyard, just to wander around and chill all day,
03:07I think she'd love that.
03:09She's just a really chill and relaxed dog.
03:19She's just such a good person.
