00:00Hi, I'm Jo Cunningham and I work for Artists Liaison at Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
00:03We started back in Bridge North in 1997, moved to Shrewsbury in 2006, moved to this site here
00:11at the Westminster Showground in 2007 and have been here ever since. We changed most recently
00:16actually during Covid where we introduced this amazing open-air stage which is only in the very
00:22early stages at the moment but is incredibly impressive. Then we introduced another stage
00:28called the Sabrina Stage, obviously goddess of the river of Shrewsbury. We now have four music
00:35stages, a dance tent, children's festival, youth festival, amazing food and drink,
00:43workshops that you literally don't have to stop all day. I think without a doubt it has to be
00:49the atmosphere and that's something that's really hard to describe unless you actually come and
00:54experience it. So you've got the amazing production values of a really high spec festival
01:01but everybody's super relaxed, really friendly, we get lots of comments about how friendly the
01:07festival is. It's just the most amazing way to spend four days because if anybody doesn't
01:12know the showground it's tucked down a little lane and we're by the side of the river,
01:18there's lots of greenery and it just feels like another little magical world for four days.
01:23We always say to people, come along, try it for a day and you'll be hooked.
