00:00So we're here in Telford to launch the new Monopoly, which is joining the Telford area.
00:07We have gone through ten cities over the last year to find out which one we have agreed
00:12that we're going to take on and Telford is it. It beats Sheffield and Norwich as the
00:17addition it will become and seven others that were part of that list as well. And we feel
00:22that Telford was the place to come to because of the historic value of what Ironbridge is
00:25very much a part of and the city and the family side of it and what it brings to the
00:30local community and the businesses in the area.
00:33Do you know yet, can you give us any indication as to what might be on the board?
00:37We have a rough idea. A lot of people are suggesting the Ironbridge itself being a very
00:42famous thing. We have put it out to vote as of this morning where people can put the suggestions
00:46forward via our email address which is telford at winningmoves.co.uk which then suggests
00:52what they would like to see and feature on the board. From attractions right through
00:56to local businesses, through to sports and entertainment, through to historic areas around
01:02the place.
01:03Do you know when the game is going to be coming out?
01:06The game will be launched live in April. We then look to build on that point until then
01:12and then we go live with it. Being an area in Telford where we will then launch it and
01:18we bring all the businesses, attractions, companies that have been a part of it and
01:22have been brought on board plus then media to then announce the launch of it on the day.
01:29I know you said about wanting to get local businesses involved, wanting them to reach
01:35out and get in touch. What do they need to know to pitch? What do they need to go to
01:40get on the board?
01:42We want to know about businesses as I said that have got a strong community involved
01:47with the area, that have been here for a number of years, that don't plan on moving
01:50anywhere, have got very much a family feel and are part of the area of Ironbridge or
01:54it's Telford directly or Newport where or Wellington where. It's very much somewhere
01:58they see themselves being very much a part of for a number of years and that community
02:03is really important to us and what it brings, those are big focal points of what we look
02:07for to have them and be involved on the board.
02:11I know Yellow is looking at being showbiz green, is there any guidance you can give
02:19people to inspire them to reach out to you via email?
02:22Light blue will be attractions, dark green will be education, dark blue is iconic places
02:28which is where we look to really much take on people's opinions and what they feel is
02:31right for the area of the big staple points of the Telford and Rankin area and Ironbridge
02:37is somewhere that has been notified to us on numerous occasions already in the build
02:40up to this as somewhere they expect to see. Hotels and tourism will be on yellow and
02:45we have then broken down into dark, into brown as well which will be for monuments and historic
02:51venues and places around that they expect to see and want to see on the board as well.
02:56Make potentially National Trust areas that are very heritage sites, the area that have
03:00been here for a long time that make up what the staple point of Telford is.
03:03Fab, thanks Ben.
03:04Pleasure, no worries.
