00:44We're here at the site for the London to Brighton to Paris electric vehicle rally.

00:51This is where the E-Village is actually going to be.
00:53So Bill, what is the E-Village?
00:54What is going on down here for the people that don't yet know?
00:58We are running the Europe's first international electric vehicle rally.
01:05So we're starting at Westminster, coming all the way down.
01:08This is on Saturday the 1st of July.
01:11We're going to then make sure that all of our entries, of which we've got 72 team members,
01:18ready to take part in their vehicles.
01:20Motorcycles, cars, vans, commercial vehicles, self-builds.
01:25Championing one thing, which is energy conservation and how you can better drive an electric vehicle.
01:29So we want to conserve energy from London to Brighton.
01:33Yeah, and once we get down into Brighton, what's the plan?
01:35What's going on down here?
01:36I know you've booked out the entire of Madeira Drive.
01:39So what is going on down here, Bill?
01:41So here I'm pretty much standing at where we've got two of our big partners.
01:46Motability Operations and EDF are going to have stands and stalls here,
01:51showing the best in sustainable technologies and how any ability,
01:55any person can get into an EV and actually drive an EV.
01:58So there'll be some really informative chats from Motability Operations.

02:02Can we drive EVs down here?
02:04Can we test drive?
02:05Absolutely.
02:06There's going to be a test drive area courtesy of Motability
02:09and another partner, which we're about to announce.
02:12So stay tuned, folks.
02:13We're going to be doing another test drive from the top of Madeira Drive
02:18on a three, is it three, three and a half mile, three mile test drive on the day.
02:22Book it in, drive an EV for the first time.
02:25We're going to chauffeur them down to here
02:27so that you'll be able to pick up your test drive just outside the Brighton Zip.

02:35The E-Village opens at nine o'clock in the morning.

02:38We then have entertainment.
02:41We've got stages, live music, DJs.
02:44The contestants from London will start arriving around 11 o'clock in the morning.

02:49We have coffees and pastries and things at Soho House, our partners.
02:53And then we'll offer the whole of Madeira Drive up for the best in EV development.
03:00Scooters, bikes, cars, everything.
03:03There's kind of charging facilities that make EV possible.

03:06I can't wait.
03:07So anyone that wants to come along, they just walk along.

03:13We're doing some giveaways.
03:14We've got a really nice kind of sound system.
03:16Like I say, there's some live music as well.
03:18But it's about experience.
03:19It's about seeing what EVs do for you.
03:21How you can charge them.
03:22We've got some great partners we're charging.
03:25And we want to make sure that all the innovations from the companies like Warbox
03:31are doing with their technologies.
03:33But also we've got other ones on display as well
03:35so that it can show any abilities any age can get involved.
03:38And it's about how you get into a vehicle.
03:41I don't care.
03:42This isn't necessarily about EV enthusiasts.
03:44This is about EV enthusiasm.

03:47We've got the Soho House send-off happening up here.
03:50So people will be raising glasses.
03:53Waving their flags.
03:54In the glorious sunshine, waving their flags.
03:56And then as the cars come past here,
03:59they'll be off to New Haven to the ferry,
04:02which is 11 o'clock in the evening on Saturday the 1st.
04:06So the ferry leaves at 11 o'clock.
04:09But what a send-off.
04:09If it's a sunny warm evening coming along Brighton Seafront,
04:13everyone's had a glass of something.
04:14Oh, it's going to be lovely.
04:15Just to kind of celebrate all things EV.
04:18You know, like they say, and to quote a friend of mine,
04:21the sun always shines on EV.

04:43They should be here sort of 10, 30, 11 o'clock onwards.
04:46There's kids entertainment, there's music,
04:48there's DJs, there's giveaways.
04:51It's a really lovely experience for those people
04:53who are interested or just kind of curious about EVs
04:56and how they can bring them into their lives.
