00:00The Department of Health has signed a new case of MPOC in the country.
00:06It was reported to a 33-year-old Filipino who has no travel history outside the Philippines.

00:21Angelique, a week after the World Health Organization declared an emergency of international concern
00:28because of the increase in the number of cases of MPOCs,
00:30a Filipino from the National Capital Region was affected by the so-called disease.
00:36This is the 10th case of MPOCs reported by the DOH since December 2023.
00:46According to the DOH, the patient has no travel history and was diagnosed through community transmission.
00:52Because of this, surveillance, detection, and contact tracing were put in place.
00:57For now, the patient is now isolated.
01:00Herbosa said that it is still possible for them to report a new case of MPOCs in the country in the coming months.
01:07Some of the symptoms of MPOCs include fever, headache, headache, fatigue,
01:14redness and swelling in various parts of the body.
01:18The so-called disease is caused by close and intimate contact.
01:23The agency urges all those who experience symptoms to immediately go to the nearest hospital.
01:29But unlike COVID-19, the DOH does not recommend wearing a face mask
01:35and instead, washing your hands.
01:39The DOH also does not recommend building a quarantine facility
01:44and their suggestion to all those affected by MPOCs is home isolation
01:49and to stay away from other people to avoid the spread of the virus.
01:54It can contaminate some materials like clothes and utensils of infected individuals.
02:01But soap and water will kill the virus.
02:06All those who have symptoms that we are describing,
02:10should see a doctor so that they can be tested.
02:15The doctor will decide if they need to be tested for MPOCs or not.
