00:00Welcome back everyone.
00:07It is Amelia.
00:08I hope you are fine.
00:09House of the Dragons Season 2 Episode 5
00:12In his attempt to make a claim for himself as a potential third party in the dance, Damon
00:17manages to botch his chances of making allies in the Riverlands.
00:21Much like the North, the Riverlands hold Donna in high regard, and several Lords arrive at
00:25Harrenhal to express their disgust at Damon's actions.
00:29After the Battle of the Burning Mill in Episode 3, Damon brings House Blackwood to his side,
00:34but the agreement is that he must inflict damage upon House Bracken, the Blackwoods'
00:38ancient rival and the minor Riverlands house that sided with the Greens.
00:43Damon implies to villain Blackwood that he permits the use of dirty tactics to put pressure
00:47on the Brackens, hoping to draw out their surrender and add their forces to Damon's
00:52army.
00:53The Blackwoods then attack areas of the Riverlands, taking women and children prisoners, with
00:58the other Riverlords severely frowned upon.
01:00They arrive at Harrenhal to condemn Damon, raising questions about how he'll manage to
01:05bring them back over to his side and eventually to Rhaenyra's.
01:09He's made it a difficult situation to salvage.
01:12Season 2 Episode 5
01:14Sees the Greens reacting to Aegon's injury.
01:16Alicent Hightower pieces together Prince Aemon's involvement in the event, and Kristen Cole
01:21covers for him as he believes Aemon to be a better option for their leadership.
01:26At the episode's end, Helaena finds Aemon staring at the Iron Throne and asks him if
01:31it was worth the price.
01:32The implication is that she had one of her vision's dreams and saw glimpses of the events
01:37at Rook's Rest, and she knows what Aemon has done to achieve his new promotion.
01:41Aegon II's condition is pretty awful in Season 2 Episode 5, but he ultimately does recover
01:47in some capacity from his injuries at Rook's Rest.
01:50There is a period following this event where Aemon rules the realm in his steed, but Aegon
01:55eventually regains the ability to make decisions.
01:58However, he remains scarred for the rest of his life.
02:01Tom Glinkani has been fantastic in the character in Season 2, and there will still be plenty
02:06for him to do once he's recovered.
02:08It's possible that Aegon will remain dormant throughout the rest of Season 2, but he'll
02:13eventually return as a character in the show.
02:16Following Rhaenyra's capture of King's Landing, Aegon will be among those who escape the city,
02:21living to fight another day.
02:23He'll also end up being one of the last main characters to die in House of the Dragon when
02:27many others have already perished.
