00:00All right, so if you read a lot of books,
00:01you might be having the issue that I have,
00:02which is how the hell
00:03do we remember everything that we read?
00:05That's a really good question.
00:06And here are six tips at under 60 seconds to help with that.
00:08One, make highlights.
00:09If you read things on Kindle and you should,
00:11you can highlight anything.
00:12And then when you want to revisit a book,
00:13you can just look at all your highlights
00:15rather than rereading the whole book.
00:16Two, download Readwise.
00:18Readwise is a great app
00:19that pulls in all of your highlights from Kindle
00:21and then every morning it'll email you
00:23five random highlights.
00:24Three, write reviews.
00:25If you write a quick review for a book
00:26you've just read on Amazon or on Goodreads,
00:28you're more likely to remember the stuff
00:29that resonated with you.
00:30Four, write summaries.
00:31I like to write summaries
00:32as a series of tweetable bullet points,
00:34and it's a great way of adding value to others
00:35and building my audience on Twitter as well.
00:37Five, make mental links.
00:38When we link new stuff to the stuff that we already know,
00:41we're far more likely to remember it.
00:42And six, focus on having fun.
00:44If you're reading a book, but you're not enjoying it,
00:45then throw the book away and read something else.
00:47We're far more likely to remember the stuff that we read
00:49when we're enjoying and we're interested in the topic.
00:52If you want a more detailed look at the system
00:53that I use to remember absolutely everything I read,
00:55check out this video on my channel
00:56about the Magical Insight Logging Framework.
00:58Thanks for watching and see you later.
