00:00The Department of Trade and Industry, or DTI, Task Force Halal Industry Development is working
00:05on the 2.65 billion pesos worth of investments to boost the country's halal sector.
00:12Program Manager Alim Siddiqi Guiapal says the task force has also registered 32.8 million
00:18pesos worth of sales of halal goods for both domestic and export markets during the first
00:24quarter of the year.
00:26Investments include a 200-million-peso halal-friendly hotel in Clark, a 350-million-peso poultry
00:33facility in Tarlac, a 200-million-peso halal certification for 500 micro, small, and medium
00:40enterprises, or MSMEs, and a 100-million-peso assistance for SMEs who will take part in
00:47trade mission or are about to export products.
