00:24President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam
00:29visited the country for his state visit.
00:32At the bilateral meeting of the two leaders,
00:34they discussed the strengthening of the relationship between the Philippines and Singapore
00:38as part of the energy talks in the healthcare sector.
00:41It was proven as a result of their cooperation
00:44that the Memorandum of Understanding was signed regarding the recruitment of Filipino healthcare workers
00:49and another MOU for the collaboration of the Philippines and Singapore on carbon credits.
00:55President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pointed out that another MOU was also planned
01:00regarding the health sector and maritime security.
01:05The Philippines remains optimistic in fostering closer and enhanced cooperation with Singapore
01:10in existing areas such as defense and security, trade and investment,
01:15and new areas such as sustainability and in energy.
01:19MOUs in the fields of health and maritime security are already in the pipeline
01:24and we anticipate for them to be finalized in the very near future.
01:31Shanmugaratnam has been planning these developments for two months
01:36since the visit of the Philippine leader to Singapore.
01:39However, this is the beauty of the relationship between the Philippines and Singapore
01:43that does not just end in words.
01:45The agreements in the Harip are one in the final and one in the final.
02:00Business as normal, incremental change after each meeting,
02:04but we really want to take it on a new trajectory.
02:07Under your leadership, I'm confident we will be able to achieve that.
02:13In my serious talks, the two leaders had a tough pick
02:17because both Shanmugaratnam's greetings were inevitable
02:21in the performance of the Philippines after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
02:27Mr. Yulo's two goals is the only athlete from Southeast Asia,
02:35from an ASEAN nation, who's had two Olympic goals ever in any sport.
02:39So it's a real milestone.
02:41It's a real milestone for all of us.
02:43I mean, we shine a bit of the reflected glory of the Philippines.
02:59We had a bit of that just the other night when our Olympians came home and came here.
03:07And that's what I was telling everyone.
03:10Tonight, it's not about us.
03:12We're just reflected glory over here and trying to be part of the achievements of our athletes.
03:20We are very, very proud.
03:22The welcome that people gave was really overwhelming.
03:26What was scheduled to have been perhaps a parade to last about an hour and a half, two hours,
03:33must have lasted about four because there were so many people who came out,
03:37throwing T-shirts up to be signed.
03:40It was splendid.
03:41It was a very, very happy day for the entire Philippines.
03:47Clay, the Singapore leader will remain in the country for three days
03:50and it is expected that there will be other engagements in the next few days.
03:55And now, please go back to your seat, Clay.
03:58Thank you very much, Kenneth Paciente.
