00:27I'll get it out eventually in Google Play and the App Store as well.
00:32Lots to talk about on today's programme.
00:35Of course, Rangers out of the Champions League after that defeat to Dynamo Kiev.
00:40Kili and St Mirren are on a mission to Norway.
00:44Can they surprise them and get into the next stage?
00:47Adam Ida, that deal to Celtic is imminent.
00:52We're just waiting on Celtic announcing that he's joined from Norwich City.
00:57Kwon checks in at Hibs and if Hibs have their way, they'll try and get Luke McCown from Dundee as well.
01:02We'll talk about that and of course, the return of the English Premier League.
01:06So, Rangers nil, Dynamo Kiev two.
01:09Rangers out of the Champions League.
01:11Not only is it a financial disaster for them, certainly in a footballing sense.
01:16On the evidence of that red card, it's cost them a lot of money.
01:21Yeah, I don't think we can sit here and say that without that red card.
01:25Rangers had a chance.
01:27I fancied Rangers to go through last night.
01:28That is a huge call.
01:30It's a shocking decision in my opinion.
01:33I don't even think it's a foul.
01:34And listen, I thought Rangers dug in.
01:36But ultimately, we're the last ten and you start to get leggy and Dynamo Kiev obviously start to control the ball.
01:43It cost them and that happened as soon as the game drifted away from them.
01:47Yeah, I mean, we fancied them to see off Dynamo Kiev because I didn't think there were any great shakes.
01:54But even on the evidence prior to us talking about the incident, even on the evidence before the sending off, it wasn't a great game.
02:02There wasn't a lot of chances created.
02:05So from that point of view, it could always have 11 against 11.
02:10It could have hinged on a key moment.
02:12I think most of the Rangers players felt as if the best chance they would have had was maybe as the game wore on, just breaking them down.
02:21But suddenly when you get a man sent off, you're up against it.
02:24Yeah, and listen, it was a poor first half.
02:27I thought there wasn't a lot of chances in the game.
02:28I thought Dynamo Kiev technically looked better.
02:30They kept the ball better without having any end product.
02:32Rangers just lacked quality in the final third.
02:35They just really, really lacked quality, Peter.
02:38The decision to keep Cerny on the bench, I thought, was a strange one.
02:41I think bringing him on at half time, I mean, surely he's got an hour on him then.
02:44You give him the first hour.
02:46I think he's the only real bit of quality Rangers have got at the minute in those forward areas.
02:50Sending off changes the game completely.
02:52Totally agree with Scott.
02:53It's never a book-in.
02:54It's not even a fill.
02:55It's a really poor decision.
02:57But Rangers got a wee lift after it.
02:59And their best spell in the game just after going down to 10 men.
03:03But they tired towards the end.
03:05And listen, I think that ultimately, I don't think Rangers were over the two legs.
03:10They were probably good enough, but the sending off did change the game last night.
03:14Yeah, Hugh, who's a Rangers fan, has mentioned on our feed,
03:18Hi Peter, Tam and Scott.
03:20The red card decision last night, it's shocking.
03:22But it papers over the cracks of a flat performance, again, sadly for Hugh, watching Rangers.
03:30The key issue here is if you've...
03:33I don't know what the manager's thinking.
03:35He said that there are experts in there that say to him,
03:37look, he can't play 90 minutes, Chernie.
03:41So, you know, he's just, he's not going to be able to play the full game.
03:44But if you're trying to win a game, then get the key players on front.
03:49Play your strongest side.
03:50And if he runs himself out, sub him after 50 minutes.
03:54Yeah, I think sometimes, in the past, for instance, a manager would always control.
03:59And he would probably maybe go to the players, Tam will tell you and say,
04:02listen, can you do me a turn?
04:03I think he's went with what the medical staff says there is, kind of protocols.
04:07And would it do him more damage long term or whatever?
04:09If you maybe start him, he runs the risk of obviously playing a bit of time on Saturday.
04:13But for me, you play your best players, you get them on the pitch.
04:16I think a common theme we've seen with Philip Clement is the subs at halftime.
04:21Did he maybe think because of, they would maybe get the better of Daniel Mokiev
04:26in the later stages, maybe it would be better to add in the second half?
04:28These are all manager decisions.
04:30But if he's on the second half, he comes on at the start of the second half, Scott,
04:34what happens if it stays 0-0?
04:36He's got another 30 minutes.
04:38So, in effect, he would have played a hundred, you know, he would have played, what, 75 minutes?
04:43Yeah, no, I know.
04:44But if his game plan was, he thought as the game went on, that that would be his best chance.
04:49And that's what he stuck with, and he's obviously used the medical staff
04:53and they obviously work with the player on a day-to-day basis and can kind of tell you
04:57about your injury prevention stuff and all the things that we do as players day-to-day.
05:01They probably thought that coming off the back of Saturday,
05:04then obviously a game on Tuesday, that was the best decision for the team.
05:07Yeah, I mean, the actual jump from Jeff,
05:12I didn't even see it as a booking, never mind a second booking, never mind a red card.
05:17No, it wasn't a foul, Peter, but he did a couple of niggly ones just before that.
05:20But I don't understand what the ref's seen it.
05:23I think he's maybe seen an elbow.
05:25He's at a different angle from we've seen.
05:26It's just, it's never a booking.
05:29And, you know, it kills Rangers at that moment in the game.
05:32So, listen...
05:34Should he have subbed him at halftime?
05:36No, I don't think so, Peter.
05:37You can't keep subbing guys on a booking.
05:39You've got to trust your players.
05:42He jumped for a header, you know, it's not a foul.
05:46I don't know what the referee's seen there, and ultimately it's killed Rangers.
05:50I agree with you, Scott, but it was a pretty flat performance before that.
05:54Peter, first half, they didn't look like scum.
05:58A real lack of quality, as I said, in the final third.
06:01Bar a couple of scrambles in the second half, they didn't really create much either.
06:04So, I think if you're a Rangers fan coming away from the game last night,
06:07you're a bit worried about the season ahead.
06:09Yeah, not only that, but I mean,
06:11although we're all well aware of the financial implications of it,
06:15I've always thought Hampden is not the great place to go,
06:19you know, for a regular football for Rangers.
06:24And, boy, it didn't have that atmosphere last night and there were lots of empty seats.
06:28Lots of empty seats.
06:29I think that would be maybe worrying from the Rangers' board point of view,
06:32that they're not getting the fans in the door.
06:34European nights have been really good to Rangers,
06:36obviously, over the last few seasons.
06:38So, that would be a worry, not getting the same kind of atmosphere.
06:41And then, you couple it up with the kind of performance we're getting on the pitch.
06:44And I feel like we're repeating ourselves, lack of quality.
06:47We said the same thing last season, game swing on the wee moments of quality.
06:52Like Tam says, I think Cerny looks the only guy who's really got that wee bit of X Factor in him just now for the Rangers side.
06:58Yeah, and when you walk off the park at the end of it,
07:00naturally you're disappointed and James Tavernier only wanted to talk about one thing.
07:07I obviously tried to speak to him as it happened,
07:10but he obviously explained that it was an elbow in the face.
07:14But, you know, looking back at it during game time,
07:17he gets up really early and I thought it wasn't even a free kick.
07:22I thought he gets up early.
07:23There's no malice to what he was doing.
07:25He was trying to win the ball and obviously the decision goes against us.
07:29And, you know, it's a yellow card, so I don't think VAR can intervene.
07:33And yeah, it's obviously a decision that went against us.
07:38Yeah, I didn't even see it as an elbow coming over.
07:41Usually sometimes there's a bit of, you know, debaity on these things.
07:44His hand was at his side and like James Tavernier says, he does get up early.
07:50And as soon as you come to the games,
07:52you've got to realise that these teams are going to play the old tricks and the referee's bought it.
07:59Yeah, absolutely.
08:00Now, the flip side of that, of course, is for the Rangers' manager.
08:04Suddenly that huge kitty.
08:06And listen, let's not forget, Rangers still had to try and beat Dynamo Kiev
08:10with 11 men in the park.
08:12And there's a small matter of it would have been Salzburg in the next playoff
08:18to try and get to the group stages of the Champions League.
08:20So there were a few major hurdles to get over here.
08:24But the manager now realises that the budget is affecting him
08:29for the remainder of the season.
08:30I told you guys this week, if you go to the Champions League,
08:34you can do things faster because there's 40 million coming into the club.
08:39That's not the case now.
08:42So it will take more time.
08:44That's the reality.
08:46To do the things that you want to do or the things that the club wants to do for the future.
08:53But it doesn't mean that the story stops, of course.
08:56And you see it already now, with young, exciting players coming into the club.
09:06But that is certainly one of the most ominous statements I've heard
09:10coming out from Philippe Clameau.
09:12He mentioned the fact that the difference in the revenue is one thing.
09:16It also changes if they have a list of any remaining players they wanted to bring in.
09:21It changes dramatically.
09:23He's speaking about younger, exciting players coming in.
09:26So that means they're going to be taking punts from players
09:28rather than going and buying.
09:30Maybe the finished Art de Corps guys, like Acherney, who's got a great pedigree.
09:34They're going to have to go and take flyers at a million pounds, a million and a half,
09:36maybe freeze because they've not got the money, Peter.
09:40On Clermont, I'm struggling to see what Rangers are trying to achieve,
09:44how they're trying to play, Peter.
09:46In terms of their formation, in terms of their tactics.
09:48I thought they just played a lot of longer balls up with Essers last night.
09:51I think they're too direct.
09:53They're missing the midfield out.
09:55A lot of Rangers supporters will be questioning why he's been given a new deal, Peter.
10:00Even this early.
10:02That's going to be an interesting next couple of weeks.
10:04They've got Celtic on the horizon as well.
10:05They've got a big League Cup game at the weekend.
10:07Supporters seem scunnered with the team.
10:09Hardly any turned up last night.
10:11I think it's a real big three or four weeks for Philippe Clermont in a minute.
10:16I think what Tam says about Philippe Clermont,
10:19we've seen a bounce from what Michael Bale had left last season,
10:23but now this is where you're going to see the real hymies.
10:26He's not going to get the A players in.
10:28He needs to get his team really organised
10:30because they don't have the quality that Celtic have.
10:32You're going to see what type of man he is.
10:35Can he be really organised?
10:36Do they have a way of playing?
10:37I don't think they do as such.
10:40Your Barons and that, they're coming to play in part of the build-up.
10:43They come deep below the ball.
10:45It goes long.
10:46It drops down.
10:47They're 20 yards.
10:48People start questioning if they're midfielders.
10:50It's not.
10:51There's no cohesion.
10:52There's no plan in terms of how they're trying to get to these areas
10:55apart from can we get Decers to hold up and get players around them.
10:58I think it's something like seven wins in 19 games
11:02since the end of last season to this season.
11:05So he clearly has to try and get that fluency,
11:10that style, that organisation.
11:13He's going to have to get it quickly.
11:15Although, to be perfectly honest with you,
11:17off the back of this game last night,
11:20he needs an injury to yield.
11:22He's like a hole in the head as well.
11:24Suddenly you're trying to recruit players.
11:26You might have dropped the list and dropped seven or eight players
11:30but the last thing you want is injuries off the back of it as well.
11:33Yes, I think that was a real blow to Rangers last night.
11:37I think naturally he'll maybe put Dijon still in.
11:40I know he's played there before but he is obviously a right footer
11:43but we know physically he can do well there.
11:46That's probably the last thing he needed last night
11:48but like I said, you're going to need to see what type of man he is.
11:51Can he get the best out of what he's got there
11:53and can he get them organised and disciplined off the ball?
11:56If you have to listen to John Bennett,
11:59quite simply, it's a long-term plan.
12:02He's got to get time.
12:03He's got to build his own side.
12:06But as I look at the fixtures right now,
12:09off the back of that, there's a real fallout of disappointment.
12:13Next two games, League Cup against St Johnstone, Ross County
12:17and then it's the 1st of September at Celtic Park
12:22which again is one of those fixtures that's the last thing you want
12:26early on when you're trying to build a side.
12:28Yes, I think it's easier to say people need time and patience
12:32than to actually give them it, Peter.
12:34I think in terms of Philip Clement,
12:37I don't think he's going to get as much time as people think.
12:39I think that the board, they're going to back him.
12:41They have backed him.
12:42They're going to back him in the rest of the transfer window
12:44with the money that they've got.
12:45But are the Rangers supporters going to accept Celtic winning another treble again?
12:49Are they going to accept finishing 15 points behind Celtic
12:52in terms of short-term pain for long-term gain?
12:55Are the Rangers fans going to accept that?
12:57Are they going to vote with their feet like they did last night?
13:01I'm not so sure he's going to get the time
13:04that the board seem to indicate that he is.
13:06That's the thing.
13:07If you don't have the performances on the pitch
13:09and the fans aren't turning up,
13:11there's always going to be questions asked
13:13and that's when you try and get the fans back
13:15by listening to them if they want a change
13:17maybe further down the line
13:18because from here on out
13:20it looks like it's going to be a long season for the Rangers.
13:22What other options does the chairman have?
13:26He's already come out and said
13:28they need to change their way of thinking.
13:30They need to change this short-termism
13:33which is basically, if it's not working out
13:36there were mistakes.
13:38How Michael Beale got the Rangers manager's job
13:40I will never know
13:41but you can't keep sacking them.
13:43He's just got an extension
13:44and he's got to be backed.
13:46Automatically, I look at last night
13:49and the reactions sometimes were desserts
13:52and I'm thinking they've got to get a striker.
13:54They need another striker.
13:56We knew that six months ago.
13:58Seven months ago.
13:59People knew that.
14:01I've obviously been watching Rangers play.
14:03I know we're saying about the short-term
14:06but sometimes you just don't have that luxury
14:08especially at a club like the Rangers.
14:09Something's got to give.
14:11We're now looking at four poor transfer windows.
14:15So they're saying short-term.
14:17That's a long-term term.
14:19They've had four transfer windows
14:20and not much good business has been done
14:22from a Rangers perspective.
14:24It's a tough one.
14:26I think there are going to be a lot of questions asked.
14:29It's going to be interesting.
14:30I think you pose a very good point there, Tam.
14:33Which is quite simply
14:35will the Rangers fans get out there in great numbers
14:38if early on they're under even more pressure?
14:41Particularly at Hampden, Peter.
14:42They don't want to be there anyway.
14:44Listen, being at Ibrox
14:46and there'll be Rangers season ticket holders
14:48have great seats at Ibrox.
14:50Right in the halfway line.
14:51It's always a great view
14:53and they might be stuck behind a goal at Hampden.
14:55I feel sorry for them
14:56because it's not their fault.
14:58Some of the seating at Hampden is horrendous.
15:01If you're sitting at grass level
15:03behind the goals or at the side
15:04you can't see the game.
15:05So they're not going to turn up
15:07if they're miles behind Celtic.
15:08They're just going,
15:09I'm not going to bother, are they?
15:10That's the worrying thing for the board
15:12if the fans start not coming to the games.
15:14Never mind the seats.
15:15I don't like the stadium.
15:16It's too far away.
15:17I don't like it.
15:18It's too far away.
15:19There's no atmosphere.
15:20Even going as a player
15:21I don't feel that it has a real feel to it
15:22when you step in.
15:23There's more feeling
15:24going to Tyne Castle.
15:26I would say.
15:27Yeah.
15:28I agree with you.
15:29Yeah, I mean, listen.
15:30No matter what way you look at it
15:32they've made, again, listen
15:35the SFA say that there's no real plans
15:38in the future to change it
15:40but if you brought that stadium in
15:42and made it tight against the ground
15:45against the outside of the pitch
15:47pull them in from the left and the right hand side
15:49and you still have room to bring in
15:52both stands
15:55from the main stand over to the far side
15:58I still think you could bring in all four sides
16:00and make that a really formidable stadium
16:03but right now it's flat
16:05and sometimes along the way
16:07I've looked at games there
16:09and I could probably pick on my
16:12you know, maybe I'd use two hands
16:14to pick out great games
16:16that have had a great atmosphere in there.
16:18That's how rare it is.
16:19Outwith Scotland games.
16:21Scotland games and other games
16:23that I've watched at that stadium.
16:25I mean, you get a Celtic Rangers game
16:28the cup final
16:30the first five minutes
16:32you're trying to see the game
16:33because the flares have gone off
16:34that's the first thing.
16:35That was a poor game.
16:36You know, and that was a poor game as well.
16:38You know, good teams can lift a stadium
16:41but it takes something
16:42and I just think overall...
16:43The British Rangers team's not going to lift a stadium
16:45and lift the fans at the minute.
16:47That's the big thing about it.
16:48Desser's reaction as well
16:49I thought was poor last night
16:51to the words of the crowd.
16:52I think there were certain times
16:54in the second half
16:55the ball was coming up to him
16:56it's got to stick
16:57you've got to get up the park
16:58they're down to ten men
16:59he gave the ball away
17:00and there was a few mumbles
17:01and he said something to the crowd
17:04and I think you'll find a lot of Rangers supporters
17:06will just go...
17:07Who do you think you are?
17:08See you later.
17:09He has come under a lot of criticism.
17:12I don't think he's that type of player though
17:15I don't think he is really, really good
17:18at holding it up
17:19and laying it into people.
17:22They all need to be the way the Rangers play.
17:24Yeah, I know you do
17:25because the ball goes long.
17:26Yeah.
17:27It's funny isn't it
17:28because you think
17:29because of the physicality it brings
17:31that he should be better than a Kyogo for instance.
17:33Kyogo is miles better than him
17:35in every department holding the ball up.
17:37Yeah.
17:38You don't always need to go right up against a guy
17:39to hold the ball up.
17:40Kyogo stands offside
17:41drops in five yards
17:42sets it
17:43to a touch
17:44to a touch.
17:45Nothing to do with physicality
17:46but if you have that physical profile as a player
17:48everybody expects it to go up to your chest
17:50you jump up and chest it down
17:51like a way a Mark Haitley or somebody used to do.
17:54You need an option
17:55you need options
17:56I think you need to change it.
17:57Danilo was...
17:59to see him walking out into the pitch
18:00he looked as if he was crippled.
18:02Yeah.
18:03I don't know if that's the way he walks
18:04but in terms of the injury problems
18:05a lot of Rangers supporters I think
18:07what's the issue with him?
18:08He paid three, four million pounds for him
18:10and he's nowhere to be seen.
18:12It's a long time ago I think.
18:14Well listen
18:15I'm looking at it
18:16we're at the 14th of August
18:17you're just talking about just over two weeks
18:20of transfer activity.
18:22Rangers will need to find
18:24some additional players
18:26to I think bolster the team for the season
18:29but also the flip side of that
18:31is quite simply
18:33that their exit gives Celtic all the TV money
18:37you get all the money that's involved
18:40in eight, possibly ten group stage games
18:43and then you've got a situation
18:45where you've got season ticket money
18:47merchandise
18:48they've won the league
18:50and transfers that are coming
18:53I mean I do expect them to sell Mara Reilly
18:55they could have an add-on
18:57if Frimpong's deal goes through
18:59they're starting to offload players
19:01right, left and centre.
19:02They get the chance out I think
19:04after all the percentages and that
19:06I walked out three million of
19:08but it's in Laval
19:09I don't think he's made much
19:11I think he's kicked one game for Celtic
19:14financially
19:15and you get points
19:16so I think 60 million
19:18I think Celtic now are staring at 60 million
19:21coming in for a Champions League
19:23then you've got the sales
19:24then you get the season ticket sales
19:26player trading
19:27then the season ticket sales
19:28I think they've spent maybe
19:30once all the players are offloaded
19:32right now they've just spent about 2 million
19:34so they're in for a bar load
19:36they'll get 70 million in the bank
19:38I reckon minimum
19:39you could pick anything between
19:41150 to 200 million
19:43that Celtic will be cash rich
19:45now some Celtic fans are obviously
19:47going to be looking and saying
19:48you need to spend that
19:50but right now on the evidence of last night
19:52they've suddenly had a cash windfall
19:55no wonder Philip Clement
19:57was going absolutely mental
19:59at the Italian referee
20:00because on such decisions
20:03sometimes they'll think
20:04it could affect your career
20:06yeah well that
20:07the decision did affect the game I think
20:09going back to what John Bennett said
20:11about long term
20:12that's long term
20:13when you're telling me about Celtic's financials
20:15or how
20:16where from the short term to the long term
20:18are Rangers going to be able to compete with that
20:20because if Celtic do want to go and
20:22ramp up a bit
20:23and sign guys for Ademida
20:25potentially 8.5 million
20:27Celtic can pay that no problem
20:29where do Rangers claw back
20:31the gap
20:32I just can't see it
20:33yeah
20:34it's worrying times I think
20:36if you're a Rangers fan
20:37over the next couple of weeks
20:38what the fallout of this
20:39it's only a one horse race Peter
20:41this season
20:42it's a one horse race
20:43it's not a two horse race this season
20:45for me
20:46and that's the Celtic team on Sunday by the way
20:48with one change of Schmeichel
20:49from the squad
20:50from the League Cup final
20:51and obviously he did not do
20:53wasn't involved
20:54Rangers will do well to finish
20:55within 10 points of Celtic
20:56in my opinion
20:57yeah
20:58well listen
20:59everybody's got their opinion on it
21:00these things
21:02can swing one way or another
21:04you can give us your view on it
21:05if you're a Rangers fan out there
21:07what's your thoughts on it
21:08we all know about
21:09I think we all agree
21:10that it certainly wasn't
21:12in our mind
21:13a foul
21:14yellow card
21:15red card
21:16you can give us your view on that
21:18but the implications of going out
21:20to Dynamo Kiev
21:22are huge financially
21:23for Rangers
21:24it's a difference
21:25in the gap
21:26in money
21:27from what you get
21:28in the Champions League group stages
21:30to what you'll get
21:31in the Europa League
21:32although dare I say it
21:34Celtic and Rangers
21:36over the last couple of years
21:37have been
21:39Europa League sides
21:41yeah they have
21:42and Rangers have obviously
21:43flew the flag for the country
21:44in terms of some of the results
21:45they've pulled off
21:46over the last couple of years
21:47I think that's maybe the frustration
21:49when you touch back
21:50on Rangers getting to
21:52Seville
21:53and doing so well
21:54in that journey
21:55from then
21:56it's been a slow
21:58a slow decrease
21:59in terms of
22:00the players they've been bringing in
22:01and the type of football
22:02they've been playing
22:03I think that's part of the frustration here
22:05yeah
22:06okay
22:07so that's Rangers
22:09you can give us your point of view
22:11on that
22:12we've certainly
22:13looked at what they're facing
22:14going ahead
22:16is there worrying times ahead
22:18how many players do you think they need
22:20that's an interesting point as well
22:21how many do you think they need Tam?
22:23I mean it's a
22:2412
22:25well
22:27don't forget
22:28don't forget Tam
22:29don't forget
22:30Tam's got his own Twitter account
22:32trying not to leather him here
22:34there's
22:35there's players in that team
22:36that are just not
22:37Rangers quality Peter
22:38I think you've got a problem
22:39that left backed
22:40I thought the
22:41I thought the
22:42you know I thought
22:43I thought Suter was alright
22:44last night
22:45I like Suter
22:46I like Suter as a player
22:48and
22:49you know
22:50there's speculation over whether
22:52Tavernier will remain or not
22:53there's even speculation on
22:55Butland
22:56you wonder about
22:57whether these
22:58type of things
22:59I think he was great last night
23:00didn't think he was great
23:01yeah you wonder if these
23:02type of sellable players
23:03like Jack Butland
23:04Jack Butland is worth money
23:06you wonder if they just look and say
23:07right we need to get
23:08certain other players in
23:09we don't know exactly what
23:11what budget's available
23:12in this two weeks
23:13for Philip Clermont
23:15to try and bring in
23:16players
23:17I think he needs another striker
23:18it's a stonewall certainty
23:20does he need
23:21does he need something
23:23creative off the back of
23:24Cherney
23:25Cherney I think
23:26looks perfect
23:27what's wrong with Hadji
23:28for me Hadji
23:29Hadji
23:30Hadji's a better player
23:31than Lawrence
23:32I thought Lawrence
23:33was poor last night
23:34I think he's been
23:35a poor signing for Rangers
23:36Hadji's there
23:37Hadji's creative
23:38he's a good player
23:39well
23:40let's understand why
23:41he's not playing
23:42Cantwell as well
23:43I think they're both
23:44better players
23:45than the guys like Lawrence
23:46and Wright
23:47and
23:48I don't
23:49Hadji just clearly
23:50had a discussion Scott
23:51yeah
23:52on the face of it
23:53but I think as well
23:54sometimes guys have
23:55things in their contract
23:56which restrict them
23:57maybe say
23:58Hadji plays another
23:5910 games
24:00he might get an increase
24:01of a certain amount
24:02of money
24:03these all things can affect
24:04because
24:05you would have his
24:06quality in the squad
24:07whether that's from
24:08the start
24:09or on the bench
24:10you would have him involved
24:11because he is capable
24:12of finding that pass
24:13and scoring goals
24:14is it desperate enough
24:15to say
24:16there needs to be
24:17a way back for Cantwell
24:18it's a good question
24:19well
24:20and even
24:21like games
24:22at last night
24:23you've got to put
24:24things to the side
24:25and do what's best
24:26for the club
24:27he would have
24:28potentially made an impact
24:29for the bench yes
24:30but
24:31I think the fans
24:32have washed their hands
24:33with him
24:34I'll look at
24:35McCausland
24:36Wright
24:37Matondo
24:38I don't think any of
24:39them are good enough
24:40for Rangers
24:41and I think the
24:42two guys we just
24:43mentioned
24:44they're better players
24:45Cantwell and Hadji
24:46you mentioned Cantwell
24:47I mean
24:48I didn't think
24:49you know
24:50we're talking about
24:51levels here
24:52and it's very difficult
24:53to look at Rangers of old
24:55I look at
24:56midfielders
24:57and I think
24:58can you hurt
24:59the opposition
25:00with a pass
25:01or even
25:02in a sense
25:03with goals
25:04that you chip in with
25:05and when the big
25:06games come
25:07I look at a player
25:08who thinks
25:09I'm going to stand up
25:10and be counted here
25:11I'll take the ball
25:12I've got three people
25:13around me
25:14I need to drive on
25:15I need to try and bring
25:16people into the game
25:17I need to come and
25:18pick the ball up
25:19when it's really difficult
25:20and we're under pressure
25:21that's the making
25:22of a good midfielder
25:23and he didn't do it
25:24in those big games
25:25No I totally agree
25:26Peter I think
25:27I watched a good few
25:28games last year
25:29he didn't go and
25:30find the ball
25:31when the going was
25:32getting tough
25:33a free nil up
25:34player you would
25:35probably say
25:36when everything's
25:37going dead well
25:38yeah I'll take the
25:39ball
25:40give me a half turn
25:41wee goal
25:42celebration
25:43Instagram post
25:44the following day
25:45you know what I mean
25:46but in the big games
25:47when you're at
25:48Rangers and you're
25:49at Celtic
25:50that's when you're
25:51defined
25:52as you would
25:53expect
25:54we're obviously
25:55going to spend
25:56a fair bit of
25:57time on it
25:58because it's a
25:59topic that's
26:00sore for a lot
26:01of Rangers fans
26:02right now
26:03and there's more
26:04worrying questions
26:05ahead
26:06signing policy
26:07is the manager
26:08going to get
26:09enough of the
26:10players that he
26:11wants
26:12what's the
26:13calibre like
26:14the recruitment
26:15has been something
26:16that's at the
26:17forefront of
26:18everybody's mind
26:19too
26:20so that's Rangers
26:21I'm not looking
26:22at them from
26:23behind the couch
26:24because I have
26:25serious worries
26:26about SK
26:27Brand and
26:28Tromso
26:29because I think
26:30we're staring at
26:31a situation here
26:32where Rangers
26:33dropping down
26:34into the
26:35Europa League
26:36and these two
26:37teams dropping
26:38out
26:39St Mirren and
26:40Killie
26:41yeah they both
26:42get difficult
26:43ties
26:44Peter I think
26:45when you're
26:46a Scottish
26:47club you need
26:48to win at
26:49home
26:50you've got to
26:51try and take
26:52some sort of
26:53advantage over there
26:54and then maybe
26:55hold on to it
26:56away from home
26:57I think I watched
26:58the St Mirren
26:59Brand game
27:00I thought Brand
27:01were excellent
27:02I thought they
27:03were very very
27:04good
27:05should I win the
27:06game St Mirren
27:07nicked a draw
27:08at the end
27:09I think St Mirren
27:10would need to
27:11play out their
27:12skin and
27:13everything to go
27:14for them
27:15to get through
27:16that tie
27:17I would think
27:18Brand would be
27:19yeah their
27:20bottom end
27:21in Brand
27:22I've seen
27:23yeah they're
27:24doing well
27:25they're at the
27:26top end of the
27:27league
27:28and Bodo
27:29Glimt
27:30are one game
27:31away from
27:32getting to the
27:33Champions League
27:34they battled
27:35Sunday last
27:36night so
27:37they're a good
27:38team
27:39I think in
27:40terms of
27:41Comarnet
27:42have got more
27:43of a chance
27:44than St Mirren
27:45I think
27:46to get through
27:47I don't think
27:48we can
27:49imagine
27:50that's why
27:51to compete
27:52with them
27:53without playing
27:54anywhere near
27:55our best
27:56way way way
27:57below our
27:58best on the
27:59ball
28:00it was a
28:01fantastic
28:02show of
28:03strength
28:04a fantastic
28:05commitment
28:06to keep
28:07going through
28:08the 96
28:09minutes
28:10I couldn't
28:11want to win
28:12the game
28:13anymore
28:14whether I was
28:15favourite or
28:16not favourite
28:17I wanted
28:18Scott
28:19because
28:20I wanted
28:21them
28:22because of
28:23what we'd
28:24seen since
28:25the start of
28:26the season
28:27I wanted
28:28them to get
28:29on the ball
28:30I wanted
28:31them to
28:32high press
28:33but in the
28:34end
28:35you know
28:36Bran
28:37just
28:38dominated
28:39possession
28:40at times
28:41I think
28:42they were
28:43taken by
28:44surprise
28:45with the
28:46influence
28:47in terms
28:48of the
28:49midfield
28:50but I think
28:51that's what
28:52Steven
28:53Obson
28:54touched on
28:55there
28:56they didn't
28:57play anywhere
28:58near their
28:59levels
29:00and the
29:01players will
29:02have that
29:03feeling
29:04they can
29:05go there
29:06listen
29:07they're going
29:08to need
29:09to be
29:10comfortable
29:11in a
29:12defensive
29:13shape
29:14because
29:16I think
29:17they might
29:18be able to
29:19nick something
29:20I think
29:21they might
29:22be able
29:23to nick
29:24something
29:25I'm going
29:26to be
29:27positive
29:28like I
29:29said
29:30I think
29:31they can
29:32play better
29:33sometimes
29:34you have
29:35that extra
29:36bit going
29:37into the
29:38next game
29:39as well
29:40as I
29:41said
29:42we're
29:43going to
29:44have
29:45that
29:46extra
29:47bit
29:48going
29:49into the
29:50next game
29:51as well
29:52as I
29:53said
29:54we're
29:55going to
29:56have
29:57that
29:58extra
29:59bit
30:00going
30:01into the
30:02next game
30:03as well
30:04as I
30:05said
30:06we're
30:07going to
30:08have
30:09that
30:10extra
30:11bit
30:12going
30:13into
