PSC chairman addresses golfer's claim over uniforms    Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Richard Bachmann addresses the issue regarding the uniforms of Filipino golfers Dorothy Ardina and Bianca Pagdanganan, saying that he is not inclined to point fingers but hopes that proper coordination was done. Bachmann, who was interviewed during the welcoming ceremonies at the House of Representatives for the Filipino Olympians on Aug. 14, 2024, was responding to allegations that they were not given proper uniforms for the competition. 00:00Just a few questions, regarding the issue of Ardena's uniform during the last Olympics, what do you want PSC to do about it?

00:08I don't want to point fingers, but I think it's about time that all people involved in sports make sure that it doesn't happen again.

00:20So will PSC do something in coordination with the POC so that it won't happen again?

00:27I think it should be in coordination with the NSA, POC, because it's a fine-line government intervention.

00:37But if we are allowed to actually get involved, then that's fine with PSC as well.

00:43Sir, regarding the honor given by the government yesterday and today at the House of Representatives, how important is it?

00:55Besides the incentives, I think VVM, going to Malacanang, and coming here is all new to these athletes, and I'm sure they appreciate all these things that are happening to them.

01:08And this is not only for the medallists, it's for all the athletes who actually made the Olympics.

01:16Sir, of course there have been multiple calls to support all sports, not just a single sport, and social media is a big issue.

01:26But now that we are having this golden moment, and of course we have four years to prepare for LA, how are we going to make this golden moment more consistent?

01:38Our grassroots programs are important.

01:41That's where we can actually have a pool of athletes that can at least support and be part of the national team in the future.

01:48So grassroots is important.

01:50And sir, of course, how important is media coverage?

01:54Because they notice that other sports don't give ample media coverage, but we know that other sports have really good media coverage and others do not have.

02:05So how important is it?

02:07It's important. Let's say for the Olympics, a lot of people can't go there and watch the Olympics.

02:13So they rely on media for their updates, their athlete TV coverage, so the athlete Filipinos can watch it back at home.

02:20It's important.
