Murder-cum-arson suspect on remand for seven days
The prime suspect in the murder of his elderly parents and niece, before setting their house on fire, in Kampung Paya Redan, Pagoh last Friday (Aug 9), has been remanded for seven days from Wednesday (Aug 14).

00:00The prime suspect in the murder of his elderly parents and 11-year-old niece before setting
00:07their house on fire in Kampung Payah Redan Pago last Friday has been remanded for seven
00:13days.
00:14According to a police source, the remand order against the 48-year-old suspect was issued
00:19by Magistrate Fatin Dalila Khalid in Muar on Wednesday.
00:24The suspect, who is the couple's eldest son, was believed to have been arrested by the
00:29police in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, at about 1am.
00:33The police launched a manhunt for the suspect after a post-mortem revealed that the victims
00:38– 82-year-old Mohamed Noor Mohamed Yassin, his 76-year-old wife Ara Abdul Hamid and their
00:45grandchild Nooradriana Noor Hashim – had been murdered.
00:50The couple died at the scene while Nooradriana, who had suffered a skull fracture, passed
00:54away while receiving treatment at a hospital in Muar.
00:58The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
